They can't possibly do much since they were cut, along with any plot points involving them. They were cut pretty late in production if I recall, so I guess JAW could salvage some kind of side quest or something out of it if they could be arsed. The OWI facebook page confirmed they did have recorded voices for them, and that they might need to replace them for the HD version.

Probably just an easter egg though.

I really fucking hope that they're not just going to stand there and look pretty, or just stand around with things to say. Leave that shit to the inanimate objects, like the RuptureFarms barrels.

I'm hoping they're going to release some kind of DLC or something for these guys.

And I'm reeeeeally hoping Lorne's reading this. You guys have got to have the resources for at least ONE little ol' DLC.

The scuba toad looks really good! I did read one comment on facebook from OWI that said the scuba toads won't be added to the PS3 version of the game. Gotta admit, I was a bit disappointed when I read that! I wonder what the reason was for that decision?

Doesn't look like it at the moment. I found the comment I referred to earlier, I can't link to it directly but...

On the OWI Facebook page there are three pics uploaded of the scuba toad model in game. For the one which is a long shot, and the toad is very small behind a Clakker, someone asked what he does in game. OWI replied that he moves around, but is not for the PS3 or Vita versions, so I guess it's a PC exclusive.

Unless the scuba toads are being included as some kind of incentive for that platform (such as 'thanks for waiting a little longer for SWHD, here's some extra content') then I cannot see why it wouldn't (or maybe that should be couldn't) be added to the PS3 version.

Considering the big-ol'-fix-everything-patch hasn't been released for PS3 yet, it seems like a missed opportunity to leave them out. If the PC version is getting them, then the PS3 version should as well. If not, then it just seems unfair to make them exclusive to PC. The whole point of this venture is to gain a new crop of Oddworld fans, right? This seems like the kind of thing that would alienate half of them.

I understand that isn't your intention, and game development is full of unforeseeable bumps in the road, but this seems like the kind of thing that's just going to cause contention. If you plan on adding them, put them in both versions or not at all.

That's more of a reason to add it to the PS3 version and not the PC. Bear in mind that the PC HD update is also being syphoned to people who have already bought it.

I think it's a silly idea to add them to the PC and not the PS3. Well, I think it's a silly idea to add them at all. I'd prefer it if they focused on new things rather than spending time making arbitrary extra tweaks to SW. I say 'arbitrary' because they obviously can't be added in any way that will change the gameplay.

I totally agree with Sekto Springs here. I understand this is probabluy meant as harmless fun. Did you guys at JAW think this trough? I mean, what do you expect the reaction of PS3 owners will be? Why putting exclusives on some platform and thus alienate the owners of the other platform?

I have to say, I hate it when people add some unnanounced bonus in a new version of the game/cd/dvd. It makes me feel like I missed something by buying it early.
