I've not that much experience in animation but I could try and do those FMW's. I mostly model static things like actual powerplants, caternary pylons, high-voltage transmission pylons, powerline armature stuff etc. As for FMWs I need a plot and/or a screenplay for each of them.

Yes Carnix could do that for you if he's up to it. We don't need it right now though, we need to release this demo first and I've hit some major glitches that are super hard to sort. I'll give you a PM or something when the time comes.

If anyone knows actionscript 2.0 please give me a PM or email me, I really need some help with this now.

Thanks.

I can provide a propper original-oddworld-like DirectDraw engine around Christmass 2009. But I really don't guarantee anything as caternary project is my top priority in summer and I won't have much free time after august... And I assume it wouldn't be very user-friendly thing for editing levels etc.

I know what you mean. You must be contradicting yourself somewhere. That's what I always tell my team mates.

If something SHOULD work, but doesn't don't add to it. You're probably contradicting yourself somewhere so change what you have.

I've encountered an an issue in my non-oddworld game. I have started a new game to redo my jumping/collision-checking code, and then will copy it across when I'm happy

Just a suggestion.

Hope you get it back on track Phylum, sorry I don't have the game demo to present.

Venks, I don't know what else to try, I'm collision testing if abe is touching the floor, and if he is it turns the gravity off, but if the floor MC changes (it has to for different screens) he will sink a bit into the floor unless you jump, then he will be on top again. I have tryed assigning an ._y value to abe when hes toughing the floor, but that wont be verycompatible with moves, sprites and just general dynamicness. Thanks for your help Venks.

@ joshkrz: I don't know exactly how you're making the transitions, but what if you got rid of the player temporarily until the ground has changed?
In a good number of projects I've worked on I've learned it's very nice to just have a display of your character that the player can't control at certain times. Like during dialogue or maybe the player is using a special ability that allows him to be in multiple places at once.
There is no one answer to how you choose to solve your problem. It could be anything. It's just up to you to find what works best for you.

@J_dude320: Of course I'm in the competition. Competetiveness runs in blood. I plan on making a Hand of Odd game using Flash. It would be a lot easier to do in Game Maker, but I'm forcing myself to learn new programming languages. Hand of Odd being a RTS game will bring a fresh breath of innovation into Oddworld fan games. I hope you all do well in your own projects. Even though it's a competetion I have no problem helping anyone. As a indepent game developer myself I know how awesome it is to have people to cooperate with.

Well, when abe touches the side of the screen, his X value is changed to 0, which also lets him jump into the next screen as the Y value dosent change. The floor is the same level throughout.

I hope you can find the solution to this problem. PM the exact code if you can't. I don't think I can help you much, but I might be able to see the problem.

I think the solution will eventually turn up.

So do you know how much longer it will be until the final copy? Or could you please rate out of ten how much you've done. But I must say this looks amazing, the backgrounds are unbelievable. Also even though you've got the song files the official Oddworld site page has them available as a free download.

I have hardly done any, I started this in May,

I didn't just shorten the song. I reduced the bitrate, reduced the sample rate and made a loop out of the song.

Well I have heard Actionscript, is a bit like C++. I'll send you a PM sometime

If you had looked properly at the title, you would know the answer to one of those questions. He is usin flash to create the game, and probrably a program like paintshop pro, gimp or photoshop to create the artwork.

How are those bugs coming along Josh? Not given up, I hope?
