Extreme Newbie!

Hello Everyone!

I'm a bit nervous but here goes!

I'm ClaireBear... or CB for short! (Has anyone actually "Googled" ClaireBear... there has to be thousand of us girlies using it as a forum tag!... but back to the matter in hand!) I'm posting from the North East of England (born and raised!) and I'm a newly qualified Primary School (Kindergarten?) Teacher struggling to find work at the moment and temping in a call centre.

The reason I'm posting here goes back four years...

...I wasn't really IT literate... I didn't own a PC never mind a games console.. nor did I see the point of gaming, I much prefered being down the pub (sorry thats too British isn't it? I mean bar) with a pint socialising but all that was to change when I started dating a guy who was really into the stuff... he had acclectic game tastes... combat, strategie, everything... and under all these was a copy of Abes's Odyssey... I thought the art work looked amazing and gave it a go!

....To cut a long story short I was hooked!

The artwork and graphics are amazing. The story lines as intricate, detailed and conclusive as any novel I have ever read... although my technical skills may be lacking... I'm a determined little player as I have refused to use cheats until I've been on the verge of throwing the console out of the window!

I just can't wait for more! The new characters on here look amazing! I'm so excited!

Anyway... thats a little about me... what about you?

Although I'm new to this forum I do post on other ones.... after reading a few of the posts on "spam" and "how to post" I thought my "Hello" would be classed as spam and ignored!

But thats not a bad thing... its more like a big sister thing than a grandma thing! (I'm not that old!

Though I should mention that double posting (posting more than once in a row) is considered to be spam, and a warnable offence. I must admit that this is the first police state forum I've come across... I feel like a mokadon!!

I don't think you'll be hearing from CB all too often... I'll break far too many rules and end up barred anyway

I thought this place would be great...... innovative, progressive and brilliant like Oddworld games... but...

I can't adhear to such rigid rules... I just can't...

I think I should lead the rest of the posters to freedom like the small blue friend of ours!

BTW... Are you people actually all teenagers... is there anyone more like me... ahem... slightly more mature shall we say?

If you guys really are 15 and 16 you have indepth knowledge of history and media well before your times... and to be honest your posting styles are very mature...

...this isn't a grooming site is it?

Many of us are in the 15-18 age range here, but there are also many in their 20's.

I beleive we've already met. But welcome to the forums anyway. TRY, just TRY to follow the rules, even if you find it hard at first.

Wow, I'm speechless, what can I say?

Well I suppose I can start by saying that I couldn't have done it without the help of Chris my team manager, and of course there are all the people backstage you don't get to see. Uh... Like you, I am also very impressed by the level of posting on these boards, regardless of age.

And as you can see by my age, I am *ahem* in my twenties...

I've noticed the postcount isn't updating very quickly. Perhaps you should change the systemwide postcount refresh intervals to something slightly closer?

"Assistant teacher?" I'm a qualified Primary Teacher (Kindergarten for those of you across the pond!)

I could be a big sister on here... I'm 23!!

I'm so sorry about yesterday.. but I really do like it here... I've got some great "helps" (I don't like to think of them as cheats!) and I love it how you guys really appreciate the skill and precision of the artwork and whole package of the game not just the game play.

Its just that... I KNOW I'll break the rules unintentionally but constantly...... I'll be barred more often than Homer from an "all you can eat" in Springfield!!!
