I almost started a new thread but then I remembered that this one already existed about Final Fantasy so I thought I should post here instead
Last night after my friends and I ate at Native New Yorker and had a few dozen chicken wings each, we headed out looking for something to do. I ended up driving us to a FuncoLand where we spend a good 40 minutes purusing the stock, flipping through mags, and abusing the demo stations.
After a while some of us started getting antsy and wanted to leave (a couple of friends wouldn't stop playing Halo for X-Box). It's a good thing we didn't!! After moping around for a few minutes I all of the sudden asked a sales guy, "So I bet you don't have any more FFX reserves left, huh?". I asked this with no special intent other than curiosity and the urge for some small talk.
Then he said a magic word that guys in normal situations dread, but in this situation turned out to be a very good thing. That word was "No". They still had some left for reservation!!!!!
Without thinking the Gamer part of my brain took over and with no self-control present whatsoever I handed over the dude $5.00 and reserved my copy which I am GAURANTEED to recieve next Weds the 19th.
The game isn't supposed to come out till January and this is a special deal Square is doing to cash in on the holiday season. I was surprised there was still some left in a store surrounded in such a populated area where teenagers and kids hang out.
Well I'm dubbing next Weds "Big Nerd Day" for myself and my friends for not only Final Fantasy X but then after the first day of finals we are then going to see "Lord of the Rings" later that evening, in which I have already secured the tickets for that as well.
I'm sure I'll be playing FFX non-stop ignoring my relatives, friends, and most dangerously, my girlfriend at least until I recieve my X-Box and Munch on X-Mas day where then I will take a hiatus and finish Munch first to return to FFX later.
I'm such a huge dork...err fan of Final Fantasy: I obsess over the next one until it comes out, I bought FFIX in Japanese even though I can only read 10% of Kanji just because I couldn't wait for the English, I saw the movie the first day it came out (which wasn't very good btw), I buy the soundtracks and I just bought the FFX Original Sound Track, and most nerdy of all MY LICENSE PLATE SAYS
CHOCOBO...
<---why does my page's links always die after a day. Anyhoo here's the direct URL
Eibu's CHOCOBO License Plate on his 2000 Chevy Blazer
I am sort of dissapointed they are making Final Fantasy XI an on-line game instead of a "bonus" game like Tactics, since I'm not a real big fan of on-line RPG's but then again I might like it...but for now on with FFX!!!
