who here likes Final Fantasy 7 ?????? My fav. Characters are Cloud and Sephiroth :) :) :) my mother has returned to the planet.....Aeris(Final Fantasy IIV)
|
Abe Babe , i Think you like FF7(I tHINK)) :( :o   :p

I like the entire Final Fantasy series...
in fact right now I'm listening to the Final Fantasy X Original Sound Track I just purchased as I type. What other album can you find J-pop, butt-rock, and classical music all in one set! I liked VII, am I glad they made Cid a playable character (only other time was in IV) I loved the story of VIII even though most criticize the whole freaking game, but I usually go against the grain... I'm sort of saddened that they chose to make FFXI an online game, I will miss the rich stories and characters. |
MY favorites are FF 7 & 8 :)
|
i loved final fantasy VII and milked every drop out of it.
*sniff* memories |
:
I thought FFVIII was okay, but not up to the standards of VII. |
I love the whole series (well, the ones I 've played anyway.) Final Fantasy 7 was the game that got me into video games. If it wasn't for Final Fanasy VII I probley would never had considered play Oddworld games in the first place.
Aeris, Yuffie and Vincent are my favoite characters. I didn't like Final Fantasy VIII that much. I mean it was great and all, but it just didn't hold the same flavor that Final Fantasy VII held. Final Fantasy IX would have to be my favorite(GO VIVI!!!) :D . ANyways, now I'm just rambling on. :p |
FF7 rocked, and after 8, 9, and a horrible movie, I've lost all faith in squaresoft.. I mean, FF10 looks more like a movie then a game, and it seems to me like they could realease footage of a guy taking a wizz in a can, call it FFX, and it'll sell a million copies on its opening day. C'mon Square, look back at the games that made you famous (Like Secret of Mana!) and go back to making awsome GAMES, not cool looking movies that you occasionaly play..

But have you actually PLAYED FFX??!!
with high production values and semi speedy releases we may never see "in depth" games like FFVI again but FFX is fairly deep AND beautiful... Well I guess I'm touchy since the Story and "movie" aspect is what I personally love about the newer Final Fantasies (and Oddworld for that matter) |

I'm sure most people here know that I love Final Fantasy... well not as much as I love Oddworld... but it is my second favorite game series of all time.
My favorite is FFVII, and my favorite character is of course Sephiroth!!! It has the best storyline of all of the games. I just finished plying FFIX (although I still have to go back and defeat Ozma). That's kind of good timing, with Munch returning to me soon! I sadly, have to wait until June before I can play FFX, as we take ages to get all the good games over here. I have also downloaded some of the early games, but don't know when I will have a chance to play them. Eibu, I have the FFX soundtrack too (really don't understand that, I can get the soundtrack in Australia 9 months before the game)... I love it. My favorite tracks are Silence Before the Storm and the Ending Theme. Great to see another person who loves FF music. It is all I mainly listen to (while I type the ending theme from FFVIII is playing). I don't understand why FFXI is even being given that title. Remember when FF Tactics came out which was a different game to the rest of the series... well they didn't call it FFVIII did they? So why call another "different" game one of the numbered series, it should be FF Online or something. Abe Babe... |

Has anyone played any of the odd school FF games, like I, II, and III?
What about FF Tactics, too? I didn't like that game as much because I'm not too good in strategy games . |
ive played the old school ones but for someone reason they dont intrest me
final fantasy legends 3 was good though |
The "Legends" series is actually not a real Final Fantasy game...they are actually the SaGa gameboy game series...and also Mystical Quest was a poor attempt at an "American Made/Easy" version for fans, thankfully it failed...

My two Favorite games are Final Fantasy 7 and Oddworld (ALL GAMES FOR ODDWORLD)just as Abe Babe's are. My favorite scenes are : Aeris in the city of the aincients *sniff :( * ; when the WEAPONS break out of hibernation ; Sephiroth and his mother Jenova (Niblehem Cloud's past); Sephiroth seting the villige to fire ; and when the SAPHIRE WEAPON attacks :D
|
Wow, you pretty much nailed all my favorite parts too, Mud 101 :D.
|
I love the Final Fantasy series, but my favourite is FFVII then FFIX and lastly FFVIII.
I like 7 and 9 better because they are both set in the past world. They are not modern like 8. And they both have great storylines. Especially 7, i love Aeris! ![]() |

FFVIII is set in the future. Abe Babe... |
I have all three FF games. Unfortunately I can't play FF8 anymore because of the excessive scratches on disk one.
Here is my 'liking' order: FF9: first class FF7: Quite good, but hard! FF8: I've forgotten what its like  |
origginly posted by Capri:Go vivi
I aggre FFV got me to play FF games. :D |
Final Fantasy 7 is the best of the series for me ; although I liked Final Fantasy 8 , I liked the part when Squall and Rinoa are alone on the Ragnorok , and when Squall saves Rinoa in space (If you re-play it and let Rinoa go..*Sniffs* it says something realy sad

Was it just me, or was Sephiroth easy to beat at the end of the game? It took me one try, and I didn't even have all the things I needed really.
The hardest battle was with those two gigantic creatures. Ones in the ocean and the other one is in the sand by that Casino place. I forgot the names of them, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't beat them ! |
Those creatures were the EMERALD WEAPON & the RUBY WEAPON , and yes they are both stronger than Sephiroth - Evan though he is the strongest being on the planet (NOT TRUE) - All of the weapons' are stronger than him.
I used KNIGHT OF THE ROUND to be BIZZARO SEPHIROTH , and then all my summons and level 3,4 5 spells (INCLUDING CURE,DE-SPELL, AND BARRIER)-To beat SAFFER SEPHIROTH - It took me a while to beat SAFFER SEPHIROTH.....BUT EVENTUALLY BEAT HIM :D [ December 13, 2001: Message edited by: Mudokon101 ] |
I forgot the name, but I used RedVIII's best limit break for the final form of Sephiroth. It always took away like 9999 damage, and since the attacks were so powerful, the limit break kept filling up quite frequently :D.
|
I usually find the final bosses of Final Fantasy aren't that hard, and the more you are levelled up (like if your characters were level 99), you can beat them really easily.
In each Final Fantasy game there is always additional bosses that you don't have to defeat to beat the game, but are always the toughest. FFVII - Emerald and Ruby Weapon FFVIII - Ultima and Omega Weapon FFIX - Ozma Abe Babe... [ December 14, 2001: Message edited by: Abe Babe ] |
How many of you like ff9?
My favorite charicter is the rat kid(Player)and vivi. One the hardest bosses in ff9 is the boss named #3.He was so hard that if one of my guys died I'd be a goner :( But I beat him on my tenth try.(by making one guy keep giving poitains to the other guy.) |
I too liked Vivi, his whole extestential problem was great...
I also like Quina, but then again I've always thought Blue Mages were cool especially if they eat their opponents for spells! I only have FFIX in Japanese (I couldn't wait for the English version)..never got to beat it (still at that temple where you can't use magic [and unfortunately I choose to take Garnet and Vivi there *sigh*]) but my progress was hampered when my friend accidently broke my modded PSX...it was fixed but by then my interest wavered I haven't been able to get my interest back into it. So many games, so little time...I once thought it would be neat to take the first three Final Fantasies (the ones from the Nintendo/Famicon) and remake them using FFX graphics..heh |
I almost started a new thread but then I remembered that this one already existed about Final Fantasy so I thought I should post here instead
Last night after my friends and I ate at Native New Yorker and had a few dozen chicken wings each, we headed out looking for something to do. I ended up driving us to a FuncoLand where we spend a good 40 minutes purusing the stock, flipping through mags, and abusing the demo stations. After a while some of us started getting antsy and wanted to leave (a couple of friends wouldn't stop playing Halo for X-Box). It's a good thing we didn't!! After moping around for a few minutes I all of the sudden asked a sales guy, "So I bet you don't have any more FFX reserves left, huh?". I asked this with no special intent other than curiosity and the urge for some small talk. Then he said a magic word that guys in normal situations dread, but in this situation turned out to be a very good thing. That word was "No". They still had some left for reservation!!!!! Without thinking the Gamer part of my brain took over and with no self-control present whatsoever I handed over the dude $5.00 and reserved my copy which I am GAURANTEED to recieve next Weds the 19th. The game isn't supposed to come out till January and this is a special deal Square is doing to cash in on the holiday season. I was surprised there was still some left in a store surrounded in such a populated area where teenagers and kids hang out. Well I'm dubbing next Weds "Big Nerd Day" for myself and my friends for not only Final Fantasy X but then after the first day of finals we are then going to see "Lord of the Rings" later that evening, in which I have already secured the tickets for that as well. I'm sure I'll be playing FFX non-stop ignoring my relatives, friends, and most dangerously, my girlfriend at least until I recieve my X-Box and Munch on X-Mas day where then I will take a hiatus and finish Munch first to return to FFX later. I'm such a huge dork...err fan of Final Fantasy: I obsess over the next one until it comes out, I bought FFIX in Japanese even though I can only read 10% of Kanji just because I couldn't wait for the English, I saw the movie the first day it came out (which wasn't very good btw), I buy the soundtracks and I just bought the FFX Original Sound Track, and most nerdy of all MY LICENSE PLATE SAYS CHOCOBO... http://initialdk.freehomepage.com/ch...censeplate.jpg <---why does my page's links always die after a day. Anyhoo here's the direct URL Eibu's CHOCOBO License Plate on his 2000 Chevy Blazer I am sort of dissapointed they are making Final Fantasy XI an on-line game instead of a "bonus" game like Tactics, since I'm not a real big fan of on-line RPG's but then again I might like it...but for now on with FFX!!! [ December 16, 2001: Message edited by: Eibu ] |
Eibu... you seem to have the same kinds of tastes as me!!! Although I am an Oddworld fan first and a Final Fantasy fan second!!!
I wouldn't go as far as buying the Japanese version of FFX (as I can understand zero Japanese), and getting a US import is tempting (as I have to wait until June next year), and I doubt I'd ever get a FF numberplate, it would have to be Oddworld for me! Although I am totally obsessed with FF music... I mentioned that already!!! I saw the movie 16 times in the cinemas... and five times on the first day (I was also at the premiere screening prior to that). Oh, and we have a bird named Chocobo and a mouse named Aki. On the other hand though I did get an Xbox and Munch from the US!!! :D What I don't understand, is that there are heaps of people w/ the same interests as me online, but in RL, I don't know anyone who even likes Oddworld apart from a 11 year old friend. I think I live in the wrong country/place sometimes!!! It would be cool to have RL friends into Oddworld/FF to hang out with. Abe Babe... |
