I noticed several of you guys are pretty decent 3D sculptors. As such, I invite you to be a part of a project of mine.
I'm keeping it on the down-low for now, as I want this to be a surprise (even to those of you who agree to help me with it). I assure you however that it will be more impressive than any fan-generated media to appear on this forum to date.
Before you say I'm blowing smoke, I'd like to introduce you to another project of mine;
Arenas. I'm currently working for a company run by a subsidiary of Id Software, TritinFilms, as a concept designer and composer. My good friend, Joe, builds and animates 3D characters/environments for a living. Myself and my friends at TritinFilms are a dedicated creative staff, and we work our respective asses off to create both original and fan-made media.
So what are we doing now? Well, Arenas is seeing downtime while we wait to clear some legal shit, as well as secure more funding. While we wait, Joe and myself have decided to produce a custom-made Oddworld fan film. About 5-7 minutes in length. The premise? Well, you'll have to wait and see!
What we need from you:
• One fully-rendered Slig model
• One fully-rendered Slig model with jacket and tie (see below)
• One fully-rendered Glukkon pud model
• One fully-rendered Mudokon model
Files must be .obj or .3ds, and/or be compatible with 3Dmax. Models should be hig p. Pre-rigged is a
huge plus. Shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles, wrists, fingers (both hand and face) joints pre-rigged would be
ideal. I know a few of you have already started/finished custom Slig models of your own. If you think you can save a little time/effort by reworking those models as opposed to building them from scratch, be my guest. However, be sure to post them here so I can have a look at them and throw a few notes your way first. Don't worry about making the skins too complex, we'll handle that.
Here's some concept art by yours truly to get you guys started...
I want to keep an open dialogue in this thread for questions and brainstorming. A storyboard and pre-viz using Gmod is already in the works. Once the wheels start turning, I will reveal the narrative of this short film, as well as keep you guys up-to-date on it's progress.
Thanks!
