Anyone else notice how much more accurate the sligs in the background are in Exoddus?
Some of the necrum secrets are damn near impossible thanks to the fucking Laser Scope-Toting sligs

The accuracy of the sligs changes on a puzzle by puzzle basis. Some sligs shoot for 3 seconds before they hit you, others hit you as soon as they see you. Their response time largely influences the difficulty of a puzzle, otherwise you could just run past hoping they don't respond fast enough.

Yeah. Is it just me, or is there a lot more variety in Slig behaviour and personality in AO than AE? Probably they didn't have the time to really tweak the details.
Quicksave probably made it irrelevant anyway; we would just try shit multiple times rather than sitting and watching the Sligs operate as in AO.

Spending as long as I do here, it's easy to forget that Oddworld has actual fans.
like, if you run onto a screen with a slig in ao and keep running, they'll shoot you straight away, but if you stop, they'll wait for a bit before shooting you.
Some sligs shoot without even saying freeze. Some sligs shoot immediately after saying freeze. Some wait a whole two or three seconds. As Havoc said, sligs are programmed on a puzzle-to-puzzle basis.
Slig's aim in MO is fairly accurate, and they're capable of hitting you even while running serpentine or jumping. Big Bro's tend to have better accuracy if I remember correctly.

Good thing they removed the insta death.
BBS are more accurate but a bit slower if I remember well.
with MO, yeah, glad they removed it, but with a 2d or 2.5d game, theyve gotta have it, or it just wont be fun, thats why exoddus was easier than AO, because crap aim or not, no matter what puzzle, the sligs always shot 3 times before hitting you.
I have Alf lıke theory: Slıg vısors are ımportant to them because wıthout them they cant aım well, and those two-eyed vısors from AO are better than those pılot vısors from AE.

Originally posted by Oddworld Enyclopaedia All Sligs in Abe’s Oddysee, in gameplay and in FMVs, wore masks with a single visor. In Abe’s Exoddus, the Popper Sligs in gameplay kept the same visor masks, but Flying Sligs and Sligs in FMVs wore masks with two separate eye holes. The new mask style was developed and introduced when, following investigation into the soaring numbers of Slig suicides, the visor model was found to have an optical misalignment that resulted in the Sligs’ vision being doubled, as though they were pulling cross eyes. This caused many accidental falls from high ledges and into heavy machinery.
Sligs have great systems admins that keep on top of new technology, and the Vykkers quickly developed the new masks. By Munch’s Oddysee the visor model seems to have been completely replaced by the newer design. Slig suicide rates have fallen accordingly.
From a character design perspective, Oddworld Inhabitants felt that the single‐eyed Sligs weren’t capable of enough expression, so they redesigned their faces.
I remember the second time I played through AO, when the Sligs in the Free-Fire Zone said 'Freeze!', I actually tried freezing to see what would happen. They watched me for about ten seconds, then, content that I wasn't going to run away, shot me.
