Slig Aim
Anyone else notice how much more accurate the sligs in the background are in Exoddus?
Some of the necrum secrets are damn near impossible thanks to the fucking Laser Scope-Toting sligs :fuzmad: |
The accuracy of the sligs changes on a puzzle by puzzle basis. Some sligs shoot for 3 seconds before they hit you, others hit you as soon as they see you. Their response time largely influences the difficulty of a puzzle, otherwise you could just run past hoping they don't respond fast enough.
|
This also shows that all the sligs you meet aren't the same - some shoots better than others :P
|
If you're finding it hard... you're doing it wrong. =P

Quicksave probably made it irrelevant anyway; we would just try shit multiple times rather than sitting and watching the Sligs operate as in AO. |
Yea I agree, same thing happens when you run past them and they yell freeze.
Sometimes they'll shoot you right away and sometimes they'll shoot right after you hit the next screen. |
and sometimes if you actually do freeze, they'll wait for about five minutes before actually shooting you.

like, if you run onto a screen with a slig in ao and keep running, they'll shoot you straight away, but if you stop, they'll wait for a bit before shooting you.
|
Hmm, I think the sligs in Exoddus aim almost same (If we doesn't count the interval between "Freeze" warning and shooting.).
But compare the aim of the Exoddus sligs with the Oddysee sligs. The Oddysee sligs usually means insta-kill when they shoot at you. |
What about Munch's Oddysee? How does their aim compare?
|
Some sligs shoot without even saying freeze. Some sligs shoot immediately after saying freeze. Some wait a whole two or three seconds. As Havoc said, sligs are programmed on a puzzle-to-puzzle basis.
Slig's aim in MO is fairly accurate, and they're capable of hitting you even while running serpentine or jumping. Big Bro's tend to have better accuracy if I remember correctly. |
:
BBS are more accurate but a bit slower if I remember well. |
with MO, yeah, glad they removed it, but with a 2d or 2.5d game, theyve gotta have it, or it just wont be fun, thats why exoddus was easier than AO, because crap aim or not, no matter what puzzle, the sligs always shot 3 times before hitting you.
|
I have Alf lıke theory: Slıg vısors are ımportant to them because wıthout them they cant aım well, and those two-eyed vısors from AO are better than those pılot vısors from AE.

In this sort of context (when you're replying to something through a large body of other posts) it's nice to use the quote button.

I remember the second time I played through AO, when the Sligs in the Free-Fire Zone said 'Freeze!', I actually tried freezing to see what would happen. They watched me for about ten seconds, then, content that I wasn't going to run away, shot me.
