I love their age old subliminal tactics. Tactic number one is using "People like you and me"
Tactic number two: playing on an age-old fear of god with the imagery of dark roiling clouds and lightning strikes. "Oh, that could be ME getting struck down by that lightning!"
Tactic number three: Using some fluffy generic name for a cause, which is
intentionally fluffy and misleading on the surface to uninformed people. It's like naming the cause "The Movement for Love and Good."
In a pig's eye.
Oddsville, I think you cut through the gullgrap with this one. You've got my vote!
The Church is losing their support; I've seen this over the past 10 years about, and their reaction to this is that they seem to have been trying to change their image in order to hold onto their members. I really think people are getting sick of being fed the same huckey that they have been for centuries, and are now defying convention; mostly in the young people demographic though. I believe in basic and simple spiritual values, so I say, take those and move on; be that better person... but stop the obsession!!!
That kinda fits. Thanks Suze.
