What the hell is this I don't even

This advert thing made me giggle.

Havoc 04-11-2009 02:33 AM

That's just pathetic.

Oddsville 04-11-2009 05:16 AM

Pathetic, people like this are so damn ignorant. America was founded on the basis of pepole having the right to do what they so believe in; and these people do their damndest to stop it saying its 'gonna end the world' and 'its a sin'. Get over it.

Oddey 04-11-2009 05:39 AM

Urgh... It's people like these that truly make me angry.

Havoc 04-11-2009 05:47 AM

It's funny they don't see the hypocrisy in this. They're saying gay marriage messes with their life and conveniently forget that their own religion messes with gay marriage.

I love their age old subliminal tactics. Tactic number one is using "People like you and me"

Tactic number two: playing on an age-old fear of god with the imagery of dark roiling clouds and lightning strikes. "Oh, that could be ME getting struck down by that lightning!"

Tactic number three: Using some fluffy generic name for a cause, which is intentionally fluffy and misleading on the surface to uninformed people. It's like naming the cause "The Movement for Love and Good."

In a pig's eye.

Oddsville, I think you cut through the gullgrap with this one. You've got my vote! :D

The Church is losing their support; I've seen this over the past 10 years about, and their reaction to this is that they seem to have been trying to change their image in order to hold onto their members. I really think people are getting sick of being fed the same huckey that they have been for centuries, and are now defying convention; mostly in the young people demographic though. I believe in basic and simple spiritual values, so I say, take those and move on; be that better person... but stop the obsession!!!

That kinda fits. Thanks Suze.

OANST 04-11-2009 08:16 AM

I literally felt ill after watching that. I don't even know what to say.

Anonyman! 04-11-2009 09:56 AM

I think one day I'll get married and, just to spite people, break into people's houses and steal their wedding rings.

shaman 04-11-2009 10:19 AM

If i'm absent from the forums for a while it's because this has affronted me so much that i have destroyed my computer in a flash of fury.

Just to let you know.

Some people really are mind-numbingly idiotic. The fact they use faith as an excuse to try and encourage prejudice and make things harder for certain people is disgusting.

Wings of Fire 04-11-2009 11:51 AM

I'm as much confused by the relevance of the doctors argument as I am about the validity of it.

What? Anonyman getting married?

But seriously, no.

Nemo 04-11-2009 01:09 PM

Lolwut

A Christian Doctor? I thought science makes them burst into flames or something.

Havoc 04-11-2009 02:36 PM

I think this says pretty much everything there is to say about this topic and the people it's about :). Listen to the lyrics closely.

shaman 04-11-2009 04:29 PM

LOL!, i was harmonising to this the whole way through!

Slog Bait 04-11-2009 06:36 PM

Wow, that song just won at life.

Havoc 04-12-2009 04:30 AM

I know rite?!

AlexFili 04-12-2009 05:22 AM

My favorite songs with swear words in the hook;

Eminem - Fack
Robbie Williams - Dickhead
Puddle of Mudd - She (****ing) Hates Me

Nate 04-12-2009 05:37 AM

AlexFili, how is that relevant?

Havoc and Slog Bait are not obsessed with Lily Allen because she swears. I think breasts might be involved, for one thing.

Anonyman! 04-12-2009 12:42 PM

lol

Rainbow coalition.
Against gay marriage.

dohohohoho

alf's brother's mate 04-12-2009 12:49 PM

These people are as stupid as a person who is stupid.

What the fuck has it got to do with them what gay people choose to do?

Well I can understand certain standpoints. A church has to go against it's own religion if the government somehow allows same sex couples to marry under god (not that this will ever happen but you get the point). And while I have no problem with a church shutting down because they don't want to fuck themselves over, I can see why they would have a problem with it.

I just don't get the doctors bit. I can't come up with any situation where a gay person would jeopardize a doctors work because of his sexual orientation and her believes? :fuzconf:

alf's brother's mate 04-12-2009 02:54 PM

How can the doctor have their work affected by gay people in any way? Its not even like they are even connected by the smallest of things! The church can think these things if they want but creating an advert for an anti-gay society is too far. Rep for someone who figures the doctor thing out.

ABM

Wings of Fire 04-12-2009 03:00 PM

As far as I can figure out, the doctor is against treating gay people. Which is totally irrelevant to their argument and, frankly, against everything that doctor should stand for.

Anonyman! 04-12-2009 03:33 PM

Not if the doctor is a proctologist and one of his patients show up for prostate exams far too often.

Wings of Fire 04-12-2009 03:37 PM

Hippocratic oath means his faith means as much as his lunch in that situation.

Hobo 04-12-2009 04:21 PM

What if his lunch is THE BIBLE and his breakfast? JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF
