Just because we're not ass-kissing like everyone else it doesn't mean we don't love the shit out of the way it's looking right now (hint: we do).
This, pretty much. People have a tendency to assume people don't know their projects' flaws and do know their strengths, when often the inverse is true. I don't heap praise on New 'n' Tasty because I assume it's a given that, as an OWF member, I like Oddword.*

Realistically though, saying what I like about the game is as, if not more, helpful than constructive criticism, because to improve the game you just need to focus more on something you're doing already. I just wish I'd realised that a few months ago.

I'll be honest here, I'm not a fan of the mushrooms. Magical flora has its place in Oddworld, but this is the Free-Fire Zone. It's a wasteland, a literal land of waste; the utterly barren place where diseased carcasses are dumped, bonfires are lit, and nothing exists but death. I have no doubt fungi would grow in a place so laden with filth, but I wouldn't expect these fungi, the brainless beneficiaries of industrial slaughter and destruction, to sparkle like fairies.

Also, I know this is a total revamp, but you don't have to pack every screen with props. Some of the most memorable screens of the originals are the ones with no elements; just an empty platform and the wind in your ears. I'm sure you're eager to show off your design chops, but don't forget the power of contrast. If 90% of NnT is as verdant with detail as we've come to expect, that'll be the norm for new players. If the Free-Fire Zone really was barren, and I'm talking nothing-but-spikes-and-bonfires barren, it'd be all the more memorable for it.

And I'd like it to be a bit darker. Just saying.

Hmm. Too much colors... The red/orange fire + green mushrom + blue sky + white fog/fireflies is way too much.
That screenshot is literally 99% blue.

Imagine if one of the big surprises of the game was that they've put back in the scrapped Meech levels. I'm most excited about the new content of the game, even the minor differences. I'd personally love for an entire new Abe-centric game set after Exoddus.

You know, I wonder since they made AO all over again from scratch to make it new and improved and just awesome, I wonder if they will do the same with AE and MO before they go onto Squeek or the next new Oddworld game?

I haven't been around here in like years so I need to brush up on what's going on now with Oddworld. A little thing called life came to me, so I kind of stepped away for a while, but I never quit being a fan of the franchise and I will always love Oddworld for what it was and what it will be in the future. I think now that I have a whole art studio in my attic and I have settled down I can create some really cool fan based art in the future. I want to get back into this because its just getting exciting. Damn, I need to get myself a PS3 or PS4.
Although, I do own a WII. Is this going to be on WII as well if I may ask?

It's going to be on PS3/4/Vita, Wii U, PC, Mac & Linux.

I think Exoddus is the plan after. Stewart Gilray said it would make sense since they've built the groundwork with New n Tasty which they wouldn't have to do again with the sequel. They could dive into art assets and tweaking the engine.

The next new IP seems like it's going to be The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot. I don't think they'll remake Munch's Oddysee since they did the HD version.

If we ever get another Munch game before Squeek it would probably be Munch's Exoddus and I guess would include all the story elements cut from the first game.

My assumption is that it will be much quicker to build exoddus. Since the groundwork of the programming has been established they just need to add the new levels and enemies.

I think I read somewhere that they'd do AE if N'n'T sold 250,000 copies or so. Given the interest and that lesser-known indie games have easily sold that many, hopefully that'll be an easy goal.

(Also, been reading the thread and lurking like I normally do - JAW are awesome for interacting with the fans. I'm loving what's been shown, makes me excited for what's to come)

Hell yeah Ledeux, I can't even imagine that as well the scale of AE was so much more rich in environments and so vast in comparison with AO, it boggles the mind. Don't get me wrong, AO is and will always be amazing. But AE was a lot more than AO and then some. Hell it was 2 discs back in the day. But yeah can't wait AE for me was AO continued with more surprises.

Oh and thank you Holy Sock for confirming the game being for the Wii. Now I don't have to buy a whole new system just to get a game which is stupid but anyway.

I've done it to quite a few people, including Nep. I don't go around throwing negrep at people every single time there's some kind of disagreement, only when I personally feel someone went a little too far or honest to god didn't contribute to the topic at hand. Posrep however, I hand out like candy. Eheheh.

Everyone's been dealing with quite a fuckton of stress lately. Just focus on fixing what's going on with your life, and try not to take it out on other people intentionally or otherwise in the process, and it's all good.

How will the Wii U port make functionality of the Wii U Game Pad?

Perhaps having Gamespeak options displayes there, or the maps of the area (when you find the correct story stone), or maybe it could act as one of the status boards showing the mudokons rescued/killed/remaining etc.
I myself don't own a Wii U but the possibilities of the game pad are something that designers often overlook.

Yeah I guessed that, Thanks Xavier. Damn I was getting all excited there for a bit. Oh well guess I just need to wait a little longer and save my pennies. Although I might be able to pick up these systems for half the price you would see at main stream stores like Game Stop.

In fact there is a place in my area called Cash Converters where its like a Pawn Shop or Good Will for electronics. You trade in your used electronic such as DVD's Game Systems, TV's etc and get cash for the value of the item and that's determined by the condition its in. They in return re sell the product for half price which is cool. Or I could check the many Flea Markets in my area as well. It also helps that My Sister In-Law is a manager at a major computer store Micro Center where she has connections and can get deals on brand new products like 3D printers very cool. Mann I love my area it has all these cool places. So yeah I can most likely get a PS3 or 4 from any one of those places I mentioned for half the price of main stream stores and not pay a fortune. Muhahahahahahahahahaha, Take that Game Stop I am not alone in the water I have connections!
