Well
I'd have to say Brazil.. Terry Gilliam's Brazil...
Because it's social commentry....
and it's smart, just like Oddworld..
I agree with the similarities mentioned about The Dark Crystal and Star Wars
But people, you neglected to mention
E.T., and other such sci fi 80's classics like Labyrinth and the Navigator... I'm sure Lorne & friends, Farzad etc... all have drawn influence from their childhood favez...
I agree with Tremors too.. I've noticed that similarity before..
Mainly in the rear haunches of the beasts, they resemble the Slog almost identically...
Aliens has the same sort of appeal...
Anyone who likes Aliens and Oddworld, it's clear they have a fascination with nature, the social structure and nature of creatures...
So, most animal documentaries remind me of Oddworld too..
I think that'd be just awesome.. an entire documentary on fantasy animals done in CGI... Sorta like those Discovery channel "walking with dinosaures"
"walking with early mammals"
"walking on oddworld"
or some other, fantastical world...
The feeding\mating habits of Scrabs..
Fleeches and Slurgs have the coolest relationship..
Anyways, those are my two cents
