Only Bond film I've seen was Casino Royale. I thought it was pretty good, but I'm not a fan of the franchise whatsoever.

I take it most Bond films aren't very good?

My parents seem to love all the ones from like thirty to forty years ago, but that's probably just nostalgia.

A lot of them are very good, but you do have to appreciate a certain amount of kitchiness.

And you seriously thought that Die Another Day was better than Quantam of Solace? I'm shocked.

:
I'd rep+ you, if I could. I see what they were trying to do, connecting the male Q, Ms. Moneypenny, the old school car and everything, but it all fell flat, compared to the old ones.
Oh, you've just reminded me.

(a) Why the hell is Q in charge of analysing a hacker's computer? He's a quartermaster, not a Computer Forensics technician.

(b) How the hell could Q have been stupid enough to plug in a hacker's computer to a non-isolated network?! I wouldn't even plug in a hacker's USB to my computer, let alone an entire laptop. Hasn't the guy seen any movies, ever?

Those are the details I draw the line and stop thinking about them, simply because I've seen too many errors on big movies, and if I complain about every one of them, I would hate every movie that did such mistakes. Having that said, I still notice them and get frustrated by it. Also, I simply don't know the logical answer to both questions, unless answering them with "That's just the dramatic part of the plot".

Abusing the willing suspension of disbelief to cover up plot holes is bad form. If you need to choose between your standards and your library, I know which one I'd choose 100% of the time.

Several people involved in the production have stated that he's definitely not KHAAAAAAAAAAN. They might be bluffing mind you, but I assumed that they were going to avoid deliberate remakes in the new series. (I haven't actually seen Wrath of Khan, so I can't make a comparison. Just quoting other people here)
well that was the first thought that came into my mind, when I saw the trailer. he seems to be superhuman, he's back for revenge and he's wearing a cape. and it can't really be an exact remake, because the premise is set in an alternate reality. but still, it feels like khan.

:
Even more so then Enterprise? Wow.

Voyager is borderline my favourite ST series along with Next Gen. I didn't watch DS9, Enterprise was awful, and despite it's legacy, I don't enjoy the original series very much. (Don't kill me) I like to watch just to say I have watched it, I can't call my self a fan otherwise and you really can't ignore it, it's so iconic.

Anyway back to Voyager, I did like the crew. I thought Janeway was a great captain (though her voice at first drives you mad ).
The Doctor and Neelix are the best characters in the show; Neelix is so darn charming, I just want to hug him and the Doctor is just a great character all-round, Robert Picardo is a legend. I don't like Seven of Nine. Yes, she's more interested then bloody Kes but she just became the center of attention half-way though the series. 'Ooh look at me, I'm a hot female borg'...yeah...

Episode wise, I loved all the two-parters. Ones that stick out for me are Future's End, Scorpion and The Killing Game. I've yet to see the finale but apparently it's amazing.
pf*~ what? voyager on the same level as TNG? NEVER!
do you plan to watch ds9?

I know, but there's many movies with plot-holes and mistakes, that if I take account on them, I wouldn't enjoy them. It's choices you may, or may not, make just to enjoy something.

Is every season of The Office this short? I already finished the first one. It's pretty damn good. I like every character really. They're all so awkward in a way.

Well saying Enterprise is better then Voyager is a crime compared to comparing Voyager with TNG. :P

And no I don't. It doesn't interested me to be honest. I've seen the odd random episode and I got shown the episode with the Battle of Wolf 359 by my mate who is also a ST Fan, that one was pretty good i must admit.

No, just the first. Rest are around twenty episodes each.

Watching through Freaks and Geeks again. Love that show.

Saw a couple of films over the weekend. First was The Royal Tennenbaums, which was pretty much perfect. I loved the characters, the whimsical slightly plodding pace and I loved how brilliantly funny and tear-inducing the film could be, often within minutes of one another. It was very beautiful.

I also finally got around to seeing Rashomon, which was a bit of a challenge as I'm not really good with old movies and black and whites in particular. Regardless, I can see why it's hailed as a masterpiece of cinema. Really clever.

I also have Ran to watch, which I bought along with Rashomon because I wanted to check Akira Kurosawa's films out, and I didn't want to start with the proto-westerns. Will be watching that tomorrow or the day after.

I must have watched Royal Tenenbaums two or three times again shortly after seeing it for the first time. Phenomenal movie. I adore the introduction to the family, the rendition of Hey Jude that plays in the background is so great and I love the way it subtly changes when showcasing the different aspects of the characters personalities.

And the end (of the introduction, not the movie), with Mordecai flying off? Just breathtaking. Amazing cinematography.

I haven't seen Ran, but Rashomon and Seven Samurai (along with Dracula) are my favorite classic films bar none. While I don't want to sound like one of those Criterion regurgitators, Seven Samurai is still (probably) the best action adventure story I've seen put to film, and you should watch it RIGHT NOW. RIGHT. NOW.
The Hidden Fortress is also just unbelievably clever.

I saw Chronicle. I liked it a lot, it was just really entertaining and kind of deranged. I can't name another movie that does the various aspects of found footage quite so well and in so many clever tricky ways. Just a darn good movie.

Speaking of Die Hard, I wonder how Die Hard 5 is going to be like? I don't have a lot of faith in it personally.

There's something amazing about films like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and Rambo. They just beg to be watched multiple times. Die Hard 5 should be like Die Hard 4, that is to say, not quite as memorable as the first 3, but watchable.

I watched a compilation of all the fight scenes from The Dark Knight Rises, and an "Honest Trailer" of it. I now have no need to watch the actual film.

I finished Red Dwarf X. there were some great moments and some average moments. The last episode was generally fantastic. The "duel across space and time" sequence was great. The holo-lamp message for Rimmer would have to be one of my favourite Red Dwarf moments.

I loved it when they touched on the ending of Only The Good only to be swiftly interrupted. Twice. They've just accepted that they glossed over it now.
