Okay. OCD stuff. I have an eye twitch. It mostly went away in high school, but came back last year. It's better than it was. I have to experience artist's work in chronological order even if the works aren't related to each other. This includes music, books, and film. There are a few other "has to be done this way" things, but I don't have to touch doorknobs forty times, or anything like that.

Oh, as a kid I refused to believe that there wasn't a "right, and "left" sock. I would keep asking my mom which one went on which foot until she would give in, and tell me.

I bite my nails as a necessity but before it used to be a really bad habit, now I don't bite down to the quick of my nails. As a young(er)'un I used to squeeze my spots and shit, which I still do if one should raise it's ugly head.

My biggest one is having the volume of anything at multiples of five, it really irks me if it isn't. I also chew my lip (less now than what I did,) drum on desks/tables and shit if I'm sitting and tap my feet if there is no desks/tables around when I'm sitting. Music has to be on at all times on my MP3 player even if I'm not listening to it.

The one that I get told off for constantly is that I really, really hate people sitting or walking behind me and it makes me feel nervous and angry so I end up either slowing down to let people pass, sit at the back of the bus/train or I'll keep taking note of where other people are around me. It leads to a lot of staring sometimes.

I hate that too... A lot.. Maybe not as much as you.... But if someone walks behind me at the same speed as me, I usually speed up or slow down and let them pass.
It doesn't bother me that much in the bus though. But at restaurants... I get very stressed if I don't get to sit with my back against the wall. Sitting with my back against the room just make me feel so extremely vulnerable and exposed x_x
Im sure most people prefer sitting with their backs against the wall.

Anyway I have the same fear of people behind me. I always cringe and flinch whenever I hear footsteps behind me. I think it's because I got bullied a lot when I was in primary school and people used to attack me from behind.

I often crack my knuckles and neck to the point at which they become sore, then carry on... I bite my top lip so much that it now has a bit of hard skin in the middle that I bite off. Drumming on desks is another one.... Spinning pens/pencils around my thumb or flicking them into the air...
And for an OCD habit I have to sort things of different sizes into size order; coins, book, etc.

So I took a stanley knife and carved it down, there were shaving s of it everywhere. I was twelve at the time.

haha once my door would always stay a little bit open so i slammed the hell out of it and ended up breaking the hinges

I get really bad habits sometimes that come and go, I wondered once if I might have a mild form of tourettes, but I'm not into self diagnosis bollocks.

Basically, at the moment I have a problem where I constantly clench my jaw or shift it around, it's getting quite bad because it's becoming painful and I can feel and hear my jaw rubbing against my cheek bones or something, which is probably quite unhealthy, problem is I can't stop, these sort of things just go eventually but I haven't had any such habits for a while, it used to be a lot worse when I was younger but I put this down to stress. I hope it clears up soon though because I wonder if I do it subconsciously in front of people.

I'm no doctor, but I doubt its any type of tourettes. Probably just a subconscious habit like nail biting.

As I said, it's probably not, but it's annoying how these things come and go, it used to be blinking, really hard, which in part comes down to the diagnosis I have dry eyes, but really clenching them tightly shit and squeezing funny faces was sort of a bit beyond that. When I ate I used to make funny noises as well, like little grunts or squeaks, that stopped years ago, but the principal is largely the same.

Wow. This is me as well, and I always have headphones that have the little circle volume control on full, and just change the volume on my computer, because it irritates me.

I also sing compolsively about what I'm doing, and I drum on tables etc. a lot. Also, after I developed a phobia of zombies, I hate sitting next to windows and I always have an escape plan for the room I'm in.

These right here. I developed the volume thing after a friend of mine insessantly corrected the volume any time it wasn't flat. Typically I just notice increases in volume for when they're multiples of ten, which sucks when some TV's these days have that weird 'maximum volume is 64' thing going on.

shit, i do that too. for me it has to be an even number, so i can't have the volume at 13 or 11, it has to be 12. and it always seems to be too loud or too quiet then.

I have that. Odd numbers don't even register, I can be flicking the volume up and down by two notches for minutes before remembering I don't actually have to use even numbers.

This doesn't apply with numbers lower than 7, oddly enough.

My best friend used to be a little like that as well with TV volumes. We often play games together, and I adjust the volume on his TV accordingly. He used to complain whenever it was set to an uneven number until he got used to me doing that.

Looks like it's a common OCD thing.

He also has an issue with items having their own place too and I have to always put them back in the same location and position that I found them in. But meh, he keeps his room tidy that way I guess. :P

To be fair, I'd like to make sure that people put my things back where they found them. It upsets my bedrooms balance if things move to places I never put them.

Yeah, I can understand putting things back where I found them - That's perfectly reasonable, but I'll elaborate: His OCD is that a few (but not all) of the items in his room have to be in the EXACT same location and orientation as they were before, not just simply nearby or roughly in the same place - Including TV remotes and game controllers. Another example is the power strip under his computer desk: Plugs removed from the strip must be placed on the floor next to it in order and on one particular side of the strip. They've gotta be plugged into the strip in the same order too.

It's his room and I respect that, so I comply - And it's a lot better than what I do: My own living space is normally disorganised, and stuff moves around a lot in piles, even though I somehow keep track of everything. Heh.

I was in bed last night and I realised my Mac was still on. I decided that I would just leave it, although that kind of thing bothers me. An hour later I decided that I was better off turning it off and going to sleep rather than proving to myself that I didn't need to.
