It certainly hasn't aged well. But bear in mind, when it came out, it was mindblowing. I still enjoy it due to nostalgia.

As someone who played it for the first time years after it came out, I'd argue it has aged well. Sure, you notice a lot more of the flaws(grey hallway #467), but its still better than 90% of the CoD clones on the market today, which is both sad and incredible. Halo 3 is my favorite campaign of the series, because it was the most replayable for me, though for first run throughs I consider ODST the best. Halo 2 or Reach is the worst, I can't decide which, I need to play Halo 2 again sometime. From what I've seen of Halo 4, I don't like it. The campaign seems too scripted, even though we have only seen 5 minutes of it, so my opinion could change. Everything I have heard about the multiplayer though I hate. Sounds far too much like Call of Duty and not enough like Halo. I'm surprised that 343 is still going in that direction after the backlash from the fans about Reach. I think Halo at its core is best as an arena shooter, albeit a slow one compared to something like Quake or Unreal. Perks and killstreaks, ruin the arena shooter experience.
