What are you playing right now? IV
Do tell.
I've played most of the way through Greed Corp on my tablet. It's a very simple RTS wherein collecting resources destroys the landscape and collapses the play area in to the sea. It's an interesting mechanic, but the game is a bit simplistic. Other games might get criticised for being unbalanced, but this one is hyperbalanced. All the factions have the same units and they all behave identically, so there's no variation as you play through each of them. Also, most of the levels play out identically, so there's little strategy involved. That said, it's cheap and short and fun while it lasts. |

It's a mix of Swedish (The devs are Swedish) with some gibberish and some English... it's not supposed to make much sense (like Sims' language) unlike the subtitles.
I'm currently playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown (U'know, the old DOS one). I have never played it before. It rules. Really, one of the best (if not) game in its genre. Wow. |
I took my Xbox 360 to my dad's house yesterday afternoon and we played a lot of Blur. He hadn't played any 'modern' games for years so he was blown away by the graphics and I found that funny. We had a blast though.

I bought Sonic 4 EpI on the cheap the other day, been working through it just to try and fill the gap left by Generations.
My god this game is unfun. Sonic takes literally forever to gain any momentum and otherwise moves like he’s walking through treacle; his momentum just stops at anything i.e. a steep incline, jumping, a spring, taking your thumb off the thumbstick; the special stages are ridiculously difficult thanks to unfair time limits mixed with tricky obstacles (I can’t count how many times I’ve lost 10 seconds by getting stuck on a pinball bumper); and to top it off the final 3 bosses are difficult and require a level of precision the controls just don’t offer. I’m looking forward to Episode II. |
Got Rayman Origins for my birthday. Shit's awesome, and co-op is some of the most fun I've had in a video game in a while.

Still playing through Skyward Sword. Ranked up 40 hours on it and I'm pretty far (I think) I'm REALLY enjoying it like you all pretty much know.
Although there are a number of issues I have with it though. I might of already talked about the motion controls and how they hate me, its a bit too easy compaired to Ocarina or Twilight Princess. oh and ( INCOMING RANT!) your companion Fi is one of the most annyoing 'characters' in a video game. I say 'character' wrongly because she has none whatsoever. "There is a 98% chance that..." Urrgh. at least Navi actually helped you, If you ask for help, she just goes though what you need to do "you need to save zelda" not actually help you with a part your stuck on and every time you go down to low hearts SHE ONLY FUCKING TELLS YOU EVERY SINGLE TIME! Like your a moron and you don't know what health is. She is apparently important so I guess I have to put up with her. I say 'her' wrongly as well. IT IS A FUCKING ROBOT. |
After not playing Blur for 2 months I decided to have another go. Yeah, I was totally addicted to this game once, even got paid to play it before I quit. I think this game really has had it for me now though, played 3 races online before getting completely bored out of my mind...
Anybody else ever play this very underrated masterpiece? |

I hooked my 360 back up, and picked up Gears of War 3. The multiplayer is a lot like the first game's, so I've been enjoying that.

Several more hours of Dark Souls grinding. I'm sticking to the tried-and-true routes and avoiding places I haven't fully explored until I level up a bit. My progress so far:
- Rung the bell of Awakening in the Undead Parish. - Found the hidden bonfire in the Darkroot Garden. The stone giant things are somewhat problematic at the moment. - Quite far in the New Londo Ruins, need to come back at a later time as I keep running out of transient curses, which I need to fight the ghosts. - I'm underneath the Undead Burg (which I assume leads to Blight Town), this guy bars the way: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lsq11v5J1m1qzis1f.jpg A bitch of a motherfucking cunt. |
You're better off getting used to those capra bitches, there are like 10 of them in Demon Ruins. In pairs. They're fairly easy at that point though. I'd suggest you go kill Great Grey Wolf Sif (He's in Darkroot Garden, the door you need the Crest of Artorias for).

I don't understand why online co-op is missing. It couldn't have been that hard to implement surely?

How far are you crashpunk? Also, I agree with the fact that you hate Fi. She is really annoying, with next to no personality. I miss Midna :p |

But then again, the online would have a bit of lag and in a game like Origins, a millisecond of lag could be a problem.

Anyways, I tried out Quarrel on the XBLA and it seems really fun. I'm tempted to get it, as I love both Risk and Scrabble, its pretty much a mixture of those. Also, Bastion is half-price on XBLA this week and I'm thinking of getting it, since I hear so many good things. I don't really like the demo though, will the main game be better? If it doesn't change much from the demo segment I dont think I will get it. |
Depends what's annoying you. If it's the weapons and/or skills, you'll have plenty more to choose from.
|
Mostly Skyrim and Beautiful Katamari. Finished Saints Row 3. Looking for something new and fun but haven't had much luck. I thought I really liked Kingdom of Amalur, but I played the full demo and...Meh. Not so much.

I still need to download it. Guess I'll get that started now. Although I think I may have let my gold account lapse.

The dlc for Iron Brigade (formerly called Trenched) came out today. I'll be playing that when I get home. For anyone who doesn't have it, this game is probably Doublefine's most solid performance in actually putting out a game that works exactly as it should. It is an immensely fun multiplayer experience, and the best combination of tower defense, and third person shooter imaginable. It's actually really, really good, and there are hundreds of ways to outfit your mech that will completely change how you play the game. I recommend it.

Is there a demo?

Gears 3 Horde mode would like to have a word with you. |

The new levels are haaaaaard. They add a whole new level to the challenge of the game. And the new survival mode is pretty bad ass too. |
