Oh

I downloaded Fallout for free a few days ago, I was killed by a rat in the first screen where I had no idea in the slightest of what I was meant to do at all.

I'll try again sometime, it's not going anywhere.

I tried out the demo for Fez on XBLA just a few minutes ago and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'll probably play the demo through tonight but from what I played of it, it just seemed boring. Really boring. And the dimension turning thing isn't anything special, I thought it was rather stupid than innovative. I don't know, it does look really nice though and can't say the chiptune music is bad but then again, it just didn't do it for me. Meh.
I can't really say anything one way or the other yet (I won't download it until tonight), but you seem to be in a very small minority.

That's pretty much my first Fallout experience. Eventually, I found out how to attack things, and also that I can't just roam the world endlessly without a care in the world.

While not-combat, you switch between move mode and use/examine things... mode by RMB; in combat, while it's your turn you can click your weapon slot (bottom of the screen) to enter attack mode and select the rat to shoot it... it took toooo much time for me to learn that by the first time i played. You need to exit the location via exit grid on bottom left of the level (it's brown)

Also, Shift+Click = Run (move mode)'

BTW Wasteland is awesome.

I don't know, a lot of people at Metacritic have also given it mediocre/negative scores. It just isn't anything too special really.

Again, after looking at a lot of different places that have talked about it, that opinion seems to be an extremely small minority.

Also, it has a 91 on Metacritic.

Well, maybe so. Just didn't really like it. It does look really nice though.

Anyways, I beat the split worm boss on Silent Hill 3, it was really easy in my opinion, it never even got a chance to hit me. So far enjoying SH3 too but I really liked SH2 a lot better atmosphere-wise. Graphics and combat are better in the third one though.

My kart racing itch has needed scratching for a while (and wasn’t in the mood for CTR), so I got hold of a copy of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

It’s good and I’m enjoying it. Doesn’t break the mould and I feel like an Adventure mode would really have benefitted it, but the controls are great, the visuals are suitably wacky and it has the crazy energy that any good kart racer needs.

I've been playing Sky Island, which is a flash game inspired by Fez. It's quite fun, though it did leave me with some side effects. Last night I turned around on my chair to place my coffee mug on the table and got momentarily confused when the dimensions of my living room didn't change.

They made an Alan Wake boxing game? Awesome.

I got Fez. It's great. It's not quite as mind bending as Braid, but the puzzles are still very interesting, and some of them take quite a bit of thought.

I'm playing Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. It's like a drug. You just hold a button, or tap a button, or hold one button and tap another, and there's this endless, quiet stream of nuts and bolts coursing through the level and filling up your wallet...toolbox...whatever. And then, you spend all of those on something that gets you more nuts and bolts faster, or with less clicking. I want to play it RIGHT NOW but I'm at work and GOD DAMN IT.

I don't really think about the story in Ratchet and Clank games, they're not terrible but not really my thing. Occasionally I chuckle, then sip some water. Ho-hum.

Also playing Megaman Zero 3. I am good at it. I also remember how to BEAT THE SYSTEM and become really hard to kill early on. Love them games.

The Gameplay of Ratchet and Clank is very fun, makes me always come back and play it over and over again. After Tools of Destruction, I highly recommend A Crack in Time and if you haven't played the first 3 PS2 games do so as well Unless you already have

God, tell me about it. I just saw Pyramid Head for the first time, just standing there. There's no backround music, just footsteps and the crackle of the radio...

Freaky game.

Tried the demo this afternoon. Hopefully it will go on sale during the whole summer of arcade crap xbox does every year. Hopefully. Because paying full point-price for it just isn't going to happen. It was good, but not great. Then again the demo also felt really short, so who knows.

As I should be revising right now, I've been subject to that mysterious psychological phenomenon in which all those irrelevant odd-jobs you've been putting off suddenly become incredibly appealing.

Anyway, I finished my Dawn of War skin. It makes the Daemon Prince team-colourable. I predict two people here will care, but what the hey.

Well I made it to the first save point in the Blue Creek Apartments in Silent Hill 2. The bit with Pyramid Head fucking the leg thingies was just weird, and Eddie feels kind of out of place for this environment.

I thought Eddie wasn't really a good character in the game compared to Laura, Maria and Angela. Everyone else but him had such interesting personas.

Know how I said that the puzzles in Fez aren't as mind bending as Braid's? Well...... Fucking hell, you have to be a goddamn genius to figure this shit out. It turns out that there are four different types of puzzles in the game. Puzzles based on perspective (these are the obvious ones. You just flip perspectives to figure them out), puzzles based on Tetris symbols (second easiest as there is an easy to understand key that tells you what movements correspond to which Tetris block), puzzles based on numbers, and puzzles based on the alphabet.

The final two make me want to die inside. The reason being is that you have to decode the number and alphabet system based on wall drawings left around the world. And no, the drawings do not say things like A = funny looking square, or anything like that. The best lead I have on decoding the language is trying to figure out what one of the phrases is saying Wheel of Fortune style by hoping that the content of the sentence involves a picture that is nearby it. I really haven't made any headway with the alphabet so far, to be honest, but I have figured out a good deal of the numerical system.

Goddamnit, it's hard.

Hmmm

Angela was my favourite, edging over James by a little, but I'd say James was the most interesting as important things about him change depending on the ending you get.

The burning staircase scene is still probably my favourite cutscene in videogame history, though.

My friend lent my Street Fighter X Tekken, so I've been playing that a lot.

Really fun game, if a little frustrating at times. On one hand, the system of choosing your own duos to battle with is a lot of fun. So many of the characters have such great chemistry, and it's finding out which characters work the best with others can be downright addicting.

My only real problem with it is the controls. They don't feel nearly as 'loose' or 'free' as Street Fighter IV. Also, there are certain combos that when you do them at a certain level of 'Cross' (basically combo meter), you do a completely different move than what you originally wanted. Took a while to get used to that, and it still bites me in the ass every now and then.

The arcade mode is great, too, because each team has their own storyline, cut-scene and rival battle, making each runthrough of it enjoyable.
except when you choose Tekken characters and get your ass pounded by Akuma

Overall another great Capcom fighter. Recommended to anyone who enjoys tag team fighters, or just fighting games in general.
