Crapcom strikes again. It looked like shit from the start, especially since Crapcom hired a studio that specialized in PSP games.

I usually love everything Capcom touches, but not this time. Whatever. Still have high hopes for Resident Evil 6.

I would be excited for RE6 if I knew whether or not they are going to shove forced co-op down our throats like RE5.

Might as well trade it in now while it's at its full value. It really is shit, and if you're a die hard RE fan you'll be disappointed.

My friend who's been playing RE since PS1 era hated it, and he's something of a fanboy.

But of course, you might end up liking it. Just seems unlikely

I just watched some trailers for RE:ORC. How could they get it so unbelievably fucking wrong? Doing an RE game right doesn't seem all that difficult, but what a complete fucking mess it looks like. RE6 looks like everything wrong with the series, too.

I finished Journey.

Walking through that blizzard for so long made that ending feel so satisfying. I don't have a fucking clue what it meant, but I'm keen to pay back through it to find out.

I'm really disappointing that my internet connection dropped out right before you die in the snow. That last area would have been so much more fun with two.

I am disappointed about this game, yet I haven't finished it. but I am pretty far ahead. I don't know what it is, but it's just not that fun to play the game and the atmosphere isn't intense at all.
but it's not a total disaster either. plot is just lame and doesn't make much sense. the gameplay is repetitive. I don't care about the characters at all, especially about the annoying ones from the side quests. so there's no real drive to play the game.
shame, could have been a good game.

I beat Duke Nukem Forever. I thought it was decent. It could have been a lot worse (or a lot better) but it definitely wasn't as bad as critics made it out to be. I liked the bossfights even though they were a bit frustrating but that's probably because I played it through on the hard difficulty.

I thought it was nice that the game doesn't take anything seriously (they even mock the game's limit of two weapons).

Definitely +1 on that. And the ending is bad (more like... missing)

They only focused on how bad the character was. The only other thing they complained about was the graphics (as if that fucking matters in the way of gameplay), I really hate the fact that they pointed out the flaws in the character that of which actually IS what the character was loved for.

In other words: They gave a shitty review about it like it was out of fashion, they don't care about the game and only focused on the character of Duke Nukem and how he was too "immature" as a character and that he's some sort of uber rapist even though those chicks looked legit

I liked the game, the game was great and fuck what any hater thinks. I love it for what the game was and is and not for just the character, they shouldn't JUST point out the flaws and then make some obscene review about the character..... It's bullshit in my case.

NOTE: They also pointed out how the controls were from 2002 for some fucked up reason.

Played Crash Bash the other day with my mates. That game is one of the best party games ever. It's so much fun throwing blocks at each other and knocking each other off slabs of ice whilst riding a polar bear. Yep. Mind blowing concepts for mini-games :P

And like I said I bought Rayman Origins and for what I've played of with (I've just started World 3) It is fantastic. One of the best platformers I have ever played and the references to Rayman 1 are awesome.

I picked up Ys: Oath of Felghana on Steam.

It's a pretty average JRPG story. Red-headed hero Adol the Red and his trusty companion Dogi return to Dogi's homeland of Felghana to find monsters roaming the land and a tyrannical count plotting some sort of evil involving ancient statues that are full of malevolent power. After getting involved in saving a young girl named Elena from some monsters, Adol and Dogi decide to save the land from disaster!

etc etc

The story is pretty quaint, but it all changes once you hit the gameplay. I guess the best way to describe it is hack and slash strapped to a jet engine- your character zooms through levels swinging his sword like nutjob, going through enemies like an Australian goes through booze. It's just killkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkillkill, and the fact that enemies literally explode into chunks upon death makes it even more crazy and satisfying.

And the bosses, the bosses are actually challenging too. They have complex patterns you have to adapt to and some really clever strategies, though some were bordering on ridiculous. There's also a bunch of puzzle solving with magical bracelets and exploration, and it has an awesome soundtrack.

So yeah, Ys. Simple plot, fun gameplay, good music, and it's very long. Lots of achievements and difficulty levels too.

I just beat Uncharted 3.

It was more scripted and easier than Uncharted 2 but I really loved the chapter that took place on that ocean liner and the Syria and Yemen levels were an awesome change of scenery for the franchise.

The difficulty in the game was kind of inconsistent where it was mostly too easy except for a few really annoying parts like the part where you are pinned against a stage on the ship and there are snipers on the ledges and destroying those jeeps in the sandstorm. But it was a fun challenge and nothing seemed unfair.

I was for most disappointed by the game. the caravan scenes and many other ones were beautiful. but most of it was just plain shooting. especially the escape from the pirate city or whatever was just ridiculous. and it covered almost a quarter of the whole game and did NOTHING to the story. very few riddles and they were absolutely non challenging. the plot was flat too.
if the story is not the main drive in such a linear game, what is it then?

Oh I agree there were very few puzzles in this one.

As far as plot goes the part that bugged me the most was when you find out that Sully was alive and was like '...you drank from the fountain and started freaking out' I mean why didn't Sully stay with Drake then? Why did he go off and hide in some random place instead of trying to help him snap out of it like they did with that bald guy.

I finished Ys. Really great game, and you can make adjust the difficulty level a lot so it's both accessible and challenging.

In Anor Londo now, speaking mostly to Dyna here, and Ornstein/Smough are the biggest dickheads in the world. I mean they seriously are arseholes.

I had to leave Anor Londo, run back through Sens Fortress, go to Darkroot Garden and shit on some fuckers head to boost my soul level. Yes, I'm a dirty soul farmer.

Any hints from anybody on how to shove Smough's hammer right up Ornstein's arse?

Well, if you want Ornstein's armour and weapon, it's going to be a bit harder because after you kill one, the one that's left, in this case Smough, will turn into a stronger form and has more powerful attacks. On my first playthrough, I beat Smough first and then Ornstein, I thought that was a bit easier.

But yeah, they're pretty much the hardest boss fight in the game so once you're over that, you can kill pretty much every other boss in the game no trouble.

Protip: Their weakness is fire and if you need to heal/use sorceries, go to cover behind the pillars. Even Smough can't usually ram you through the pillars (even if they're broken already).

Also, don't put much levels to Resistance, that's pretty much the useless skill in the game as certain armours cover its purpose. What kind of a character do you have?
