Really? I'm pretty much done.

And MM, what do you mean they did the same thing to Tyranids? Do they talk? I hope they don't talk. It would be wacky if they talked.
No, but not far off. They've had a lot of 'development' giving them humanity and *Shudder* first-person narration.

Was it wild and animalistic or was it like a very hungry hooman?

Just for once, I'd like a mysterious alien race of shaded origin to remain mysterious.

The Necrons do not have more character now. They just have a completely different character, and this time minus the depth of intrigue. Now they talk! To humans! In Low Gothic! What happened to the freakish silence and alien gestures? Plus they got rid of Pariahs, and Wraiths, and Tomb Spyders. They were the most characterful units the Necrons had, even if Tomb Spyders were just Sentinels with a thorax. They had an Egyptian/Zombie/Terminator/Cyborg/Robot/Undead vibe, now they just have an Egyptian/Robot vibe. By my count, that's four less mashup elements, and mashup is the heart and soul of Warhammer.

I don't know who the new staff at GW are, but they genuinely are less good than the old ones. Sculpting, writing, game dev, it's all going down. The old guys used to lecture about how they tried to make everything fit together with the open-ended stuff their predecessors left. The new guys are the opposite, wanting to 'give us answers' and 'reveal the mysteries'.

You know when the mystery is revealed in a story? When all the answers are given?

The End, dammit.

Good luck. It's been coming on a while, but I may finally get round to cancelling my White Dwarf subscription.

Okay, rant over.

(They did it to the Tyranids too.)
Congratulations, you didn't even read the fucking codex.

Pariahs were always fucking useless and were replaced by Lychguard/praetorians, who actually have some good skills. Wraiths are still in the codex, have BETTER RULES, same with Tomb Spyders. Scarabs are now deadly.

:
They had an Egyptian/Zombie/Terminator/Cyborg/Robot/Undead vibe, now they just have an Egyptian/Robot vibe.
They still revive from catastophic damage, fuckwit. Still space undead. Also cyborg robot terminator is all the same shit.

But the stupidest part is your comment about "revealing the mysteries". The thing is, all the previous Necron codex was was mysteries. They were soulless boring empty lackeys to a pair of inscrutable mysterious mary sue dickweeds who talked all ominous-like and did shit-all.

This new book didn't reveal anything, it DELETED everything. The Necrons now have personality. They have a proper backstory. They are no longer second-fiddle in the book with their own name on it. The Silent King, Trayzn the Infinite, Imotekh the Stormlord, Illuminator Szeras, Zehnandrekh and Obyron, they're all actual characters with interesting backgrounds and their own stories. They took a literal skeleton of a race and gave it some meat.

And for your information, the Tyranid codex was written by a different author, also Tyranids sold very poorly so the release of models in the codex which had proper rules was sidetracked. The codex itself really isn't bad.

Hmph.

Also to set the record straight, the Tau and Ork Codexes have aged very badly and the 4th Ork codex was shitty from the beginning due to serious anti-tank lack. In comparison, the Dark Eldar, Grey Knights and Necron codexes have gone over very well and are all strong efforts.

And the Tau get a new codex in January.

Rayman: Origins demo. It was fucking great. The controls felt a bit sensitive at first, but I became familiar with them after no more than 10 minutes. There was a nice variety of features shown and there is no excuse not to try this. I'm definitely pre-ordering the collector's edition of this tomorrow.

Yeah, the demo was motherfucking awesome. I doubted it at first, but I'm definitely getting it before Christmas.

It all worked so brilliantly. The platforming was fast paced, fluid and responsive. The Moskito ride worked really well and I loved the inhale mechanic. The swimming felt more intuitive than I'd anticipated and I found myself really loving the system after a few fast deaths.

I tried out the 2 player co-op with my mum and loved it. She's absolutely terrible at platformers, but it didn't matter. She could coast on my success by simply moving her post-death ghost to my location, where I could punch it back to life. I wasn't being penalised for her crap playing, but it wasn't making anything notably easier for me, either.

basically, we may have a bona fide platforming masterpiece on our hands? With Rayman 2 in the same series, that's a helluva track record.(Rabbids never happened. NEVER HAPPENED.)

If anyone wants to give me a list of post numbers and an appropriate title, I'd be happy to split.

Controls were a bit too sensitive to me, they honestly didn't feel very precise. Im still getting it eventually, but wish the controls were more intuitive. Beautiful game either way, will pick it up on sale or for Christmas.

This.

It's like the long awaited 2D sequel to the original Rayman that some of us have been waiting a long long time for. And also, it looks like a bloody difficult game, which is always a bonus.

I hope Abe HD is as good as Rayman Origins.

I think it died after Strike Witch made a butt hurt rant about how good the new codex is. Even though it isn't.

Picked up Skyrim and Battlefield 3 earlier today. Skyrim is fan-fucking-tastic. Im only about 3 hours in, with just one quest done, but I can already tell Ill be spending a lot of time with the game. Focus on archery and one handed weapons with a little magic on the side for now.

Battlefield 3 is great too. Much improved from the Beta. Menus could be a lot better, but other than that I don't have any major complaints from multiplayer. Haven't touched the single player or co-op, will eventually though.

As of an hour ago, I have the Rayman Origins Collector's Edition preordered.

In KH2:FM I've now defeated the last Absent Silhouette (Marluxia, who is a fucking bastard one he starts rolling around as a wheel) and learnt glide, which it seems isn't enough alone to get to the next area of the Cavern of Remembrance. I also managed to clear the Halloween Town Mushroom after almost fifty attempts.

Apparently some people are saying Skyward Sword is better than Ocarina of Time. ...wut

Alright alright, sorry. Just figured it would be easier to discuss about Zelda in the topic that's about Zelda.

Anyways, I'm almost done with Mage Gauntlet, a really good iOS game. Some of the last stages are so fucking hard, not to mention the bosses. I wonder how hard the final boss is...

Is that the Sprite Aminated one? You speak to a giant pig face at some point? I was thinking about getting that.

I've been playing Fable II on a tiny, itty bitty TV next to the giant one that I own that I'm letting my friends play Skyrim on (in between cleaning their diarrhoea out from under their chairs and hand-feeding them while they play). I'm going out of my way to be a dick this time around. I already know that I'm choosing the Dog ending, so this is just to make everything easier. I'm going to be a monstrous, overcharging slumlord.
