Minecraft - OWF server -

Speaking of mobs, not many hostile mobs seem to spawn at night on the new OWF server - Infact, they're quite hard to find now. I've had a look at a list of server settings and there isn't any setting to change how many hostile mobs spawn, only a setting to turn them on and off. Plenty of passive mobs spawn and there are plenty of ghasts and pigmen in the nether so it may not be a performance issue. Maybe the difficulty is set to easy?

EDIT: I just played around on single player with the setting on "Easy" and it hasn't affected how many mobs spawn. Wonder why they aren't spawning anymore. :S

Edd the same kinda goes for animals... They dont spawn much either.

I've found lots of passive mobs - They seem to spawn as they normally do. Hostile mobs became rarer today, and now I can't find them at all. It's weird.

Kind of takes the challenge out of the game.

Dunno what to tell you concerning hostile mobs. They are enabled and there is no way to influence the spawn rate because that's hard coded into the game.

one of the posts i saw the ip address. It would be lucky if i used it, but i wouldnt bother for 2 reasons:

1: I don't think im allowed there yet.
2: The server propably has a password so i decided not to bother anyways.

So, i would go on the server, but not without knowing if i should.

Actually, I do mind. Because he's not welcome yet. As has been said many times before, only active forum members or veterans are welcome to join. As Destro only has 21 posts he can't exactly be classed as an active member or a veteran.

And besides the server works with a whitelist so trying to connect won't do you any good.

The Mobs spawn fine for me. I've found sheep and creepers and blah.

Yeah I noticed that when I looked at a list of server settings - Hostile mobs are still absent. Suppose we'll see what happens next time the server is taken down and put back again. I know it automatically re-starts every day but it didn't seem to do anything.

Since the server is all okay and people are still on, I'm carrying on 2Fort. I'm making it in Single Player but its mainly now for refrence.

I found a void underneath the 2fort station that had some spiders stuck there. It's possible that no mobs are spawning on the surface because they are all stuck underground somewhere in the chunk you're on.

Try moving a long bit away from where you're working mostly to give the mobs a chance to despawn and try coming back. Might fix it. Otherwise you'll have to dig around for unlit caverns and light them up. That has been reported to fix it in some cases.
