Well to be fair I won't be continuing this argument, I think BM's scientific intelligence outshines mine to the point were I'm really digging for answers, it comes down to this though, religion requires faith, some people are lacking or were never fortunate enough to be brought up into a religious family.
I'm a raised Catholic you ridiculous little prick. Stop fucking fishing for some sort of personal victory to dredge out of your complete and total schooling by people with brains between their ears.

I'm reloading the guns, people.

:
If you were blind in an open field with a gun with one bullet and you knew there was a man that would kill you if you didnt shoot first would you stand there second guessing yourself and get killed or would you take a blind shot hoping to hit something. me personally I would rather take the shot
You are presuming a man where there is no evidence of one. Listen. Taste the air. You are alone.

:
Come off it. The people seeking the origin of the universe are working on just as much faith as any Muslim.
Have another look. I'm not going to explain the scientific method again.

:
well my analigies may have some flaws but again a falt in me not my religion, human error is in all religions simply because no human is perfect, the relgion itself is still divine it is the people who are portraying it that are in error
Religion is nothing but human error. Cutting right to the core of Christianity, for instance. The whole Jesus thing: what I find there is some of the most insulting, horrific and immoral teachings I have ever heard. It is utterly disgusting.

:
although you are correct in one area, most people say it is because nobody is good but I find that a little hard to wrap my head around, evan if that is so I fail to see how 1 lifetime of sin warrents an eternaty of torment
Take that doubt and run with it. It will serve you well.

:
it comes down to this though, religion requires faith, some people are lacking or were never fortunate enough to be brought up into a religious family.
That is as insulting as it is ridiculous. "Brought up in a religious family". Which religion? Yours? Do you not think it odd that almost everyone believes in the religion that they were born in? Is this chance occurrence really sufficient to believe in one over another? It is so arrogant and egocentric. It implies that your religion is the right one because you were born into it. Or else that you are otherwise so special that your god would not have permitted you to be born into the wrong one. It's ridiculous. It's arbitrary. It's not enough to keep the mind alive.

Yes, religion requires faith. And that is its most damning aspect.

Dammit, I was going to post that.

Let me make this comparison though:
"some people are lacking or were never fortunate enough to be brought up into a scientific family."

I just think it's strange, that even now when you realize there's no point in going against BM, you seem like you haven't learned much.

In conclusion, I think that most people know their religion is bullshit deep-down(I'm sorry, I really don't mean to offend any of you). They are just so scared of death, and are lacking meaning in life so much that they'll ignore their sanity, and go to whoever first says: Oh, I have the answers for you, boy!!

Really, I wish you'd continue STM, just to see when you truly run out of arguments, cos that's how religious debates always end up. All the one's I've seen. The religious person will always give up and say something along the lines that you said.
I don't feel I need to continue because the argument will keep running in circles, it's a shame you want me to continue just to see me crash and burn as well.
I don't think BM won the debate personally in the sense that to win a debate you must show your opponent that they are wrong and then the opponent should see it the victors way.

Don't be insulted, it is the truth, there are three real religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, of course I'm not going to say Hinduism is the one true religion because to me it's bloody well not, of course I imply that the true religions are the ones with my God stated as the divine being. No matter what I go through I will never accept that there is no God, there is a God, there will always be a God, my God, arrogant, egocentric, I don't care, when would a Zoroastrian for example ever admit that their god is not true.

So first you proclaim there's only three "real" religions, which is incredibly offensive to anyone of any faith besides those three. Could you explain why you think some religions can be classified as false?

Second, you go on to say that religion is a subjective thing, and that people of different faiths will always believe they're the correct ones. So why doesn't this apply to you? What makes you certain your religion is the right one? If it's all subjective why do you think yours is objectively true?

Third, isn't arrogance viewed pretty negatively by most religions?

Ok, you really answered your first question with your second one, I don't care if I offend other faiths that much over the internet at least because I generally believe my religion or at least the religions that believe in my God are the only religions for obvious reasons.

No I don't think you have, I don't have to love other religions let's face it, God didn't like the worshippers of Baal, Asherah, Moloch, the list goes on...I just have to tolerate them, I don't have to like them I just have ot get on with the fact that people aren't all like me...unfortunately ( XD ) I can still be a complete arse hole...so long as no one I know is offended...I suppose.

Sort of, Zoroastrianism is debatable because it is so old compared to it's sister religions if I could call them that.

Well by your logic older religions = better, so Zoroastrianism must therefore be more of a real religion than Christianity.

I don't follow your point. If you believe he actually existed, Abraham still only lived at about 1500BC. What does Usher's hypothetical date for creation have to do with that?
