I liked the look of Fangus... but I guess that's a matter of tastes. Anyway with the fact that JAW is doing some work to port SW to the PS3, they might become familiar with the Stranger engine. So I don't think it wouldn't be too far fetched. I guess we'll have to wait to see how the SW port will be received by the public.
I hope it does well, I don't want JAW to be working on nothing but "abe games" because the nostalgic "fan" can't open his mind to anything else.

Becoming familiar with a game engine does not mean or imply much of anything other than the fact that they are CAPABLE of using it for what they've announced it is being used for. To come to such a conclusion that they will probably do Fangus based on that is ridiculous.
Perhaps you couldn't be bothered to read my post stating mudokon, gabbits, and steefs are great characters......that does not translate into "I ONLY WANT ABE GAMES EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS" since Abe is not a Gabbit or a Steef. That means I have played and enjoyed ALL FOUR Oddworld games (though Munch was flawed due to being rushed). I think I made it rather clear in my previous post WHY I am not interested in a Fangus game, and it has NOTHING to do with being "nostalgic" or "close-minded" it has to do with not wanting Oddworld to be ruined with a typical scifi war game with characters that look human. If I wanted that I could always pick up one of the dozens of 360 bargain bin crap. What made Oddworld so great is the fact that it was so different from anything else, Fangus was NOT.
That is not being close minded, that is wanting something UNIQUE.
I am open to any idea that is GOOD and I have full confidence JAW will deliver. ALSO...sorry I destroyed your hard-on for Fangus, but what kind of "Oddworld Fan" would NOT want another Abe game??

Or for that matter, prefer Fangus (which can barely be considered Oddworld anyway) over a continuation of the quintology, such as Squeek??
Perhaps it would not upset me so much if it were released just as The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot and NOT Oddworld: The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot - then I wouldn't have such high expectations out of it.
