To be honest I think Palpatine could be argued as the greatest Sith Lord of all time by many, however, if any one has played the KOTOR series I would have to say Darth Revan was one of the most powerful Jedi/Sith ever. Those of you who know his history and his impact on the Old Republic, etc. will understand.

Force unleashed could potentially be a great game, however, I will say the KOTOR series followed by the Jedi Knight series are the best games Lucasarts has churned out Star Wars wise.

I have to agree with you on Revan, Al. After finishing KoToR 2, it feels like I know a lot more about the Star Wars universe outside of the movies.

Palpatine is stated by the NEC as the most powerful Sith. As for Revvie, well, I believe, based on what I have seen (namely, seeing KOTOR I and II through several times, reading his article on Wookieepedia, and generally engaging in debates about him), I'd say he is indisputably powerful, but not Sidious powerful. I'd put him at around Dooku's level of power as Darth Revan, and OT Vader's as Jedi Revan, based on the feats and fluff I've seen. Either way, defeating one of the strongest warriors in the Galaxy in single combat, recovering memories even after severe amnesia (contrary to popular belief, Revan was NOT mindwiped by the Jedi Council. They just took a brain dead Revan and reprogrammed that nearly blank slate) and redeeming himself from being one of the most evil people in the Galaxy, not to mention saving it at least two times is a very impressive set of feats. But, ultimately in the grand scheme of things, even Revan is nothing before Palpatine, who wrote books on the Dark Side that took 96 standard hours to read and who has considerable evidence (statements from the character, from the actor, symbolism) for him being the very incarnation of the Dark Side of the Force itself.
