Xav, I'll see if I can buy it. If and when I do, I'll tell you if it's worth it or not.
Thank you...
I like art books but I don't want to buy any single book about game art that's released

Its a hilarious movie...Where this hobo and this beautiful girl get this spell cast on them and they switch places for a few weeks.
But before they switch, the girl goes to this antique hippie store, and the hippie owner comes next to everything she looks at and sais: "You can stick you WEEEEEEED in there!!!".
THis is how he tries to sell his merchandise. Its pretty funny.

Well back ontopic. Nate, you said you checked it out right? Did you manage to get the price at your Barnes&Nolbe as well?

I didn't get to check it out because it hadn't arrived yet. From memory I think it was do or 30 dollars.

Thats a fair price.
I could manage that for a book with Abe on the cover.

God, you really are a physcho.

Anyways, I got the book. It's really a great book. There are more than a few pages covering Oddworld, several with previously unseen concepts (at least for me). One appears to be Abe standing in the big industrial room showcased in the pre-Munch's Oddysey concept videos.

But besides Oddworld, it's got some other great art in it. Definetly worth the buy.

Presumably it's only worth 30 dollars if you're into the entire video game art scene. For those of us only interested in the Oddworldy bits, perhaps it'd be too much, unless you're cullen.

No prob, Xav. There is a graphic display of the Stranger, along with the aforementioned Abe concepts. There's probably some other stuff as well.

Myes indeedy.

That's not the problem, the problem is that you want to buy it because your favorite character is in it. Winky face.

To be honest, there's nothing wrong with it from an objective viewpoint. People may argue that you're letting your fanaticism blind you from the price you would be willing to pay for an entire publication you would only enjoy a small part of of, but that's just them applying their own priorities and values to you. If you think it's worth it, then for you it is. Hell, it wouldn't be the first time an Oddworld fan has spent unreasonable amounts of money on something of fairly little importance. Then there's the pragmatic point that you only have a limited amount of money, so you have to be sure you can spend it on the things you think are worth it.

Forgive me, I've just been revising for my Critical Thinking retake; I'm in the mood to analyse.

Yeah, that would worth it to me for sure.
A few nice pieces of art and maybe some interviews and articles on Oddworld, hell yes it's worth 20 bucks to me.

Well, still. I can come up with another 10 dollars.
Someone said that there was a few pages of Oddworld. This MUST involve some kind of writing.

Not really, as far as I can tell. There's some captions under the pictures, and a mention of the games, such as "games like Oddworld were very goood because...", but other than that, not much.

Can you describe these pictures? Have you got the Art of Oddworld book to compare whether the images are also in there?

And on another note; Barnes and Noble cancelled the order. I may get around to ordering one in myself but it may take some time.
