Somehow, through all the offensiveness, the on-topic conversation has managed to survive, so I see no need to close the thread, but any continuation of the bullying that has occured in here will not be tolerated. Warnings have been handed out liberally.

The thing with Stranger's Wrath is that it manages to present almost all the charm and philosophy that Oddworld carries without having to use existing avatars such as Abe the hero and Glukkons the antagonists. I say almost all because the philosophy of the weakling underdog anti-hero clearly isn't present in the game. OWI can tell us how Stranger has a bad heart all they want, he's still clearly the badass we all want to be instead of the average Joe we are, and I don't see how it not being a Quintology title is in any way relevent to that; but apart from the that, the political and social commentary, the quirky humour, the ALIVE world, the Hollywood production values and the character-driven story are all present and correct in this incarnation.

As for why Munch's Exoddus wasn't made: Munch's Oddysee wasn't a popular game. It didn't go down well with the fans, it didn't receive critical acclaim, and it did poorly on the market. Lorne in part blamed the game's lack of promised content by claiming that current videogaming technoogy wasn't up to delivering the epic stories and features he wanted to showcase in the Quintology, so he developed the idea of Stranger's Wrath, which ironically enough just happened to become the most advanced and epic Oddworld game yet. I fail to see how it can offend fans by not containing Abe. There will be more Abe games in the future, and the ones that already exist aren't lost irretrievably in the past.

I'm not going to argue with you, but I'm just saying that Kimons post doesn't warrant a warning says me.

There is a fine line between comedy and spam, and your way of warning wasn't the most mature way of going at it.

As much as this sounds childish I believe Cullen got exactly waht he deserved. Where as I believe Kimon, Leto, Daxter king, and myself (well, maybe except Leto and me) were merely pointing out such idiocy and letting him know exactly what he had done to cause such provoked anger. After, Cullen IS the one who is telling everyone to calm down. Perhaps he should take his own advice. In other words, for such a msierable way of bringing out his opinion, we needed an equally mijserable way ot "interptret" him to our countewropinions. Meh! (I am so getting another warning).

PS. Some of this was humor, even if it wasn't interpreted well.

I dont know about you people but i did not think Strangers Wrath wasn't much of an oddworld game. I have every oddworld game, but this was just a disapointment, my question is...

1) Does any body have Strangers Wrath?

2) Did anybody like it?
I completely disagree that Stranger wasn't much an Oddworld game.
It was however with a new character but OWI managed to also get the "ODD" feeling in the game , without the "ODD" feeling it maby wont be an real oddworld game , I have it and i enjoyed it more then any other Oddworld game

I bought it. Best FPS I've ever played.

And oh, btw, Cullen, that was spam... I bet you don't want another warning.

Alright, reasons I liked Stranger's Wrath over the other three games:

1. Familiar but mysterious atmosphere
2. Beautiful graphics
3. Incredible twisty storyline
4. The unnoticable transition from first to third person, and how well they blended
5. The concept of playing as a 'proper' hero
6. Conversing with the Clakkers and Grubbs was fun, interesting, and simple

Those are the main reasons, although I really liked it mostly for the atmosphere.

True, true.
These are all very strong points of Stranger's Wrath. But in my opinion, they come nothing close to Munch's Oddysee.

Totally agree with the atmosphere of the game, AND twisted storyline. But what I like mostly of the game was the unique characters. The Clakkers, Grubbs, and Steef. Loved them all, 'specially the Grubbs. They're the coolest.
And Stranger! Being an absolute enigma. A mysterious hero. It made me wonder, at first, whothe hell exactlywas this guy? And why was he gettin' an operation? This was the first time I ever played OSW.

I will agree that Stranger and everyone else where such great characters, and that Stranger has that great, mysterious look and feeling about him. Oddworld Inhabitants did a great job with character design.
Although there are great characters in Stranger's Wrath, I have to say that I like the characters in Munch's Oddysee a lot more. They (IN MY OPINION) had a more ODD feeling to them and the Vykkers and Glukkons had such an evil little twist to them, it was so great.

They did, but they also had new kinds of the old creatures.
They had ranks for Glukkons.
And then they had new creatures like: Vykkers, Gabbits, Big-Bro Sligs.
