They're part of the big Britpop wave. Oasis vs. Blur type scene of the mid to late 90's.
Their Bass player is originally from the Stone Roses, a very influential band. I haven't herad much of TMSP's stuff though.

I've been qute addicted to Radiohead recently, they make such original music. Songs like Idiotique, Electioneering and There, There can never be done again.
