They're part of the big Britpop wave. Oasis vs. Blur type scene of the mid to late 90's.
Their Bass player is originally from the Stone Roses, a very influential band. I haven't herad much of TMSP's stuff though.

Yeah I was expecting something much better than that.

If they weren't American then I'd say Rage Against The Machine, or something anti-corporate-america like that. F*ck Bush in the bum.
