Yayness... another FF music fan!!! One Winged Angel is the absolute best song ever!!!

Kristen you have no idea how sad I think you are right now.
Not sure whether to take that as an insult or a joke due to the smilie. But each to their own. Seeing the concert sold out and tickets were selling on eBay for up to $500 US ... I'm not the only person interested in that kind of music. Plus a lot of commercial music is crap now days, my tastes just changed in general, which is why I went in a totally different musical direction. Just because someone likes music from games, there's nothing wrong with that. In fact many composers are extremely talented and are on par with the composers of movie music.

For the most part, I don't like metal. Or, at least vocalization in it.
Okay I just lost a great deal of respect for you. Not because you don't like metal, I don't care about that, but the ignorance of your vocalization statement.

Anyway, moving on:
I used to be fairly open minded about music, but I am becoming less and less, and I only really listen to my CDs now. This is partly because I am becoming immersed in the wonderful world of metal, and because as my musicianship increases, I now properly tell how shit a band is.

My favourite bands are:
Metallica
Megadeth
Iron Maiden
Anthrax
Dream Theatre
Dragonforce
And others...

I do branch out a little out of metal:
The Offspring (Older stuff)
Muse
Tenacious D

I love Tenacious D, they manage to combine comedy with decent music, in a way far better than all other attempts at it(except Bill Bailey, of course)

I like rock, a mix of jazz and maybe some classical.

Put them together you get some cool music.

Oh, don't worry. I know well enough when I make generalitzations and stereotypes based off small bits of listening. Merely, I tend to flip through the 40+ music channels on Digital Cable every so often, to make a vain attempt to to get a more first hand taste of the specific genre differences. By no means are the Music Choice channels the absolute dividing line when it comes to grouping bands/songs, it may just be the way that "Rock" is divided up into 5 channels. But many times, when I flip by "Metal", I tend to be disatisfied if the singer resembles a barking dog. You must catch a bit of slack, too, as I don't have the time to go around and download a great deal of songs to get a sound idea of what a loosely defined music genre sounds like.

My favorite band at the moment is the Dead Kennedys. Jello Biafra is the most vocally talented person ever, plus his name is Jello, which makes me giggle. Their music has so much energy, and their lyrics can be so moving. The brilliant humor is my favorite quality.

A few other bands I like are (most have already been mentioned by others): The Ramones, Dashboard Confessional, Rancid, Nofx, The Aquabats!, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, and Green Day. I'm hesitant to mention Blink-182 usually as it often makes people want to stone me, but many of you guys like them too, so yay I guess. I'm not very fond of their new stuff though.

Wow, looks like I'm the lone synth man here.

If anyone wants to listen to my music it's on my site(the banner below). Although it is 100% synthy and that scares some people some of it is fairly catchy.

Haha! Yes, it can be, but Dashboard Confessional is a good band to listen to when I'm sad. There's rarely any other time I listen to them. In fact, I haven't listened to their music in quite some time because I'm really annoyed about their recent sellout-ishness. Meh, what can ya do?

At least it could be worse. Dashboard Confessional may be sellout, but bands that try to sell out and fail are by far worse.
