Shenmue

I was just picking through the loft the other day and came across my old Dreamcast, so I plugged it in and decided to play for a bit.

I found a game that I didn't remember buying called Shenmue. As soon as I plugged it in, I began to remember the game. I used to hate it. I seemedd to enjoy it this time around. Probably because it was something different.

I appear to be moving through the game too quickly, so I'm thinking that I should restart the whole thing to pick up things I may have missed.

The point of this blog entry? Don't ask. I just have nothing worthwhile to do as I'm off work for the day.

The freeform battles sucked but the action time parts were awesome, contrary to popular belief Resident Evil 4 had very few completely original ideas.

Tell me about it. Not only do the freedform battles bore me out of my mind, but I'm crap at them. Playing the game makes me want to go out in a leather jacket and ask around for sailors and chinese people while putting on a monotone voice.

Mega64 did a Shemue skit once, it was meh.

I never bothered playing this when I goit my Dreamcast, although I had it, was that a mistake?

Not if you prefer more modern games. I've always enjoyed games that are different, so that's probably why I enjoy it. Shenmue isn't really that different any more, but in a sense it is. It's sort of a GTA where you aren't quite as free, and without hookers and murder.
