I have been summoned to jury duty Part 2

Yesterday I received an envelope telling me the date of my Jury Duty amongst other information. I don't know how much I'm actually allowed to say, but it'll start in the first half of June, so I have a few weeks to brace myself.

The duty (for lack of a better word) will be expected to last ten days to two weeks (some places in the booklet say ten days, others say two weeks) and if I get a really short trial they'll put me on another. It will only be longer than that if I get a trial about rape or murder or something. That oh-so-encouraging line saying 'few trials last 200 days' has cropped up again

But overall the information they've sent has left me feeling a little more reassured. The courtroom is quite close to the train station so hopefully I won't get lost trying to find it. And claiming expenses will apparently be sorted out while I'm there so it won't be a case of writing letters and talking to robotic call centres, which is good news.

My greatest concern now will be if any 'distressing' evidence appears I might get all squeamish (Argh! My greatest weakness!) and embarrass myself in front of all the hot juror babes. So amusing suggestions on how to get out of scary jury service are still welcome

I don't find it smart... But I believe that's how a christian perceives the world. I don't care much either. As long as someone doesn't resort to hurting anyone mentally or physically, or if they don't impose(cause loss of freedom), they can think what they want. There's not much we can do about people's perceptions.

And no, IMO, hating homosexuality or homosexual people isn't smart <.< But each to their own. I believe Splat is a good person either way. Just misinformed.

	Hitler did not believe in or follow Christian beliefs or values, therefore he was not in the most important sense of the word 'Christian'. He was also not atheist as he needed a strong faith led ideal to differentiate Germany from the atheist USSR.

Yeah, a Christian believes in Christ and follows his teachings, so the fact he slaughtered millions of people pretty much means he failed on the whole 'love other people' thing. Hitler actually used the theory of evolution to justify the Holocaust, so it's you atheists who caused it all!

(Note: I don't actually believe all people who believe in evolution paid a part in causing the Holocaust; I just want to show how ridiculous it is blaming all Christians for it.)

I don't have a problem with men loving other men (or the female alternative); but men lusting after other men is defined in the Bible as a sin. Christians believe sex is a spiritual thing as well as a physical thing, which is why the Bible restricts it to being between married men and women. However, this doesn't actually mean I want to herd homosexuals into a gas chamber.

...Though that does give me an interesting idea for getting out of Jury Duty...

Jesus said a man who looks at a woman for sexual gratification is adultery, so it follows that the same thing applies to homosexuality.

I'm just explaining why I hold my beliefs; I'm not trying to argue anyone into changing their's. I doubt it would work if I did; it annoys me when Christians shout 'stop doing that or God will be angry' to a bunch of people who don't believe in God to begin with.
