We've been in Washington state since the first, and I've loved every day of it so far.
The shitty news is that my California issued medical license doesn't allow me to work up here, so I've been dealing with the bureaucratic bullshit involved with getting my license transferred. Not fun.
Other than that though, things have been hunky spunky. I've got to spend a lot of time with my parents, which is nice because it's been about a year since I've seen them. My dog loves it up here.
My only real issue with this state? People here
can't. fucking. drive. Seriously. They don't pull over when an emergency vehicle is trying to get through.
Ever. So far I've seen an ambulance or fire truck blocked by a car[s] at an intersection on four different occasions. It's also apparently standard procedure for the police to get on their PA systems while driving with their sirens on to tell the cars in front of them to 'Move to the right'. Pathetic. People also drive horribly slow. In the fast lane. Now, while I admit that I suffer from lead-foot syndrome, there is absolutely
no reason for someone to be in the fast lane if they're going five miles an hour
below the speed limit.
Otherwise? Great. People are nice, and while the taxes are high, the cost of living in general is cheaper than California. Although the price of cigarettes is so insane that Dorian and I have both decided to quit. Almost nine bucks for a pack? Fuck that. This isn't New York.

Oh, and since I can't work as a nurse just yet, I've been doing some landscaping. My aunt has a huge front yard, and she's paying me 15 bucks an hour to dig some flower beds, sink some railroad ties into one of the slopes for my grandma, and install a sprinkler system.
Easy fucking money.
