Oddworld Nervousness...

I'm not sure why ... but lately I have found myself getting really nervous about things ... but I don't know what I am getting nervous about. I'll just get this really awkward feeling ... but I can't pinpoint what it is that is causing it.

I wonder if anyone else has things like this happen. I haven't really had it happen before, of course I've been nervous about things ... but I usually know what it is about.

Abe Babe...

A simillar thing has been happening to me lately. Like if i'm getting ready to go out into town one night, i'll be about to leave, then I get really nervous and my heart starts to race, and i'm thinking, what's wrong with me, why am I getting nervous about going out.
I did drama for two years as well, and I never got so nervous back then as I do now.

Welcome to my world. It's a drawback about being shy and nerdy. The Nervousness is awful. But I do think that I'm groing out of it.

I'm always nervous but not neccesarily in a scared sense, it's part of anxiety I suppose and I constantly feel ancious yet obligated. It's a strange type of nervousness but I know the feeling. It could be part of anxiety, and I know you've been working hard, so that might be the problem.

'Fcuk knows why.'

If they know why, why don't you just write a letter to the company person and ask them to help you with it?

Warning, disgusting image ahead.

I went through a period of inexplicable nervousness. It wasn't truely inexplicable: I mean, I was going through a very self-conscious part of life at the time, but the ways in which it showed itself were weird. I used to get out of the shower and then just stand there chewing the skin around my finger nails. Uck, my fingers ended up looking horrible.

Perhaps you should just take a look at what could possibly be concerning you in life. It could be something obscure, or a collection of things on top of each other. Alternatively I'm talking rubbish. Hope things work out, though.

Do any of you ever get the itchies when you are say, out at the shops? Like real serious case, itchies on your back and everywhere, like to the point of almost being painful?

I do. I also get kinda nervous before I go out. And while I'm out I get kinda like "oh shit do I look all right?" then I think "WTF is up with me?".

I really don't know what it is, especially this itchies thing. I walk outside, go down the street, and the moment I stop, say to withdraw some money, or queing up, I start to get these stabbing itches. It's really horrible and very annoying!

Itchies is a symptom of anxiety, many get it confused with nervousness as they have the same symptoms as depression.

I have the whole "O-M-G, do i look alright?" thing. But that's because i'm a Gay-Trendy and i have to live up to the stereotypical reputation of been welldressed 24/7. It's tiring, but also very rewarding.

I think the nervousness is what brings on the anxiety though. Being plagued with worries about how you look makes you anxious when you feel that too many people are looking at you.

Either way, it's pissing me off. Hopefully I'll just grow out of it.

Abe Babe...
I can totally relate with the whole nervousness thing... but... anyone male and of a nervous disposition stop reading and look away now!... its generally around a certain time of the month.... (I told you guys to look away!) Its totally normal and anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die I think has a right to be a little stressed!

But seriously and a little less disgusting... I totally get what you Babe and I think it was you Death are saying... I can get very nervous when out on a night... for absolutely no reason! I'm out with my Boyfriend and our friends and suddenly my stomach starts doing the tango, I start to shake and I just wanna bury my face in his shoulder and slink off to die in a quiet corner of the club!... No one has said anything to me... I just freak! It is getting less and less often now but it used to me terrible for a while, so I think it may be an age thing (I hope! I don't wanna be like this for life!)

I'm usually like "uber-confident" too! I'm a teacher for God's sake! Its so strange... I think it may be connected with my weight and my physicality like Death said... in fact most of the time its when I'm standing next to one of those mirror walls.

You are not alone Babe, Death... everybody!... and sadly even my boyf whose 32 sometimes says he gets the same so I reckon its just an issue of self awareness... I dunno! I just hope i'm not like this forever!

Just a few thoughts...

CB xx

Nervousness is absolutely normal.

Everybody gets nervous once in a while, no matter what they say.

There's nothing wrong with you.
