Here is what I am planning on doing. Maybe not as soon but I am working with Oddguy on this idea. My part of the idea is to rent out a place somewhere warm for about one week. like a small beach front condo. The OW convention or vacation will be held at this place. It will be like a party or an open house type of event and what I will do is send out invitations to you guys even to you whome live in other parts of the world to participate in this vacation. Your families will be invited aswell to make it something you will remember for a long time. To make it legal it will be a public type of event inviteing you and your family to this get away for one week. That way nobody is suspicious of anything and it will be so fun. Like I said if I send invitations to you on this then your parents might let you come and join the fun. But thats something I can't control with your families but I will give you guys invitations anyway and you would RSVP so that I can make a list of how much stuff to purchase and to see who is comming and who is not comming.
Your families know that your Oddworld fans so this can be like an open house. Thats like the best idea. We would play games have food, music, and of corse Oddguy and his T-Shirts
Heck Ill do art for ya guys and I would also even give an invitation to Lorne Lanning and the crew at OWI in hopes they come to the Oddworld Fan convention which I have no doubt he might if not its a try.
That is the proper way to do this because nobody will get in trouble because its organised and its public. And its not like we are going to meet some obscur individual at a mall or something. Its organised party. Right now the idea is in its infant stages. So we are looking at least maybe two years maybe one. Depends on what the budget is. So thats the idea.
Now buget wise its not too much of a hassl but right now I am looking to get full time hours so I can make enough money to rent out a place for a week. And believe me you can find some deals out there. It won't be anything real fancy or professional. it would be just a get together type of thing. There will be food but mainly you will have to be responsible for your own expenses like airline ticket and Hotel Accomadations in the specific area or what not. The condo I would rent out would be the place I will be staying at as the hosts and whoever to be a host aswell and I am sure Oddguy would like that.
But if you have any other ideas let me know we can always put together some OWF budget so that we could do this. I think its an awesome idea. Heck Ill look for some good locations and prices. The key is to organise this in a way that its like inviteing just people to a party.
What would you say if there was another Odd tour?
. So, where to then? Afrika? Lion spotting? :P
With an event that huge, maybe Lorne and crew could party with us.
