We can't be sure what it is going to be called, but Abe's Oddysee seems good since that is the same story the movie is going to follow. We'll just get a lot more depth that the game and OWI will add more new cool stuff I'm sure.

Yes it would be good to call it Abe's Oddysee, and then just call the following sequels the same name as the games. This would make it easier for people who have never played the Oddworld games, because if they gain an interest in the storyline, they'll just go out and buy the games.

from oddworld-web
:
Abe's Exoddus: the Movie was nominated for an Oscar in 1998 for "Short Animation". Unfortunately it did not win the award, but it did see Oddworld as the first video game to gain Oscar Nomination. An Oscar nomination required the movie to be shown in a cinema, therefore it was shown from October 27-29, 1998 in Los Angles. Just imagine seeing Oddworld on the big screen!

That would explain why I went to imdb to look at Lorne, it said Abe's Exoddus was a film and a movie! I've been wondering about that for a while! Take a look! IMDB

Yeah, that would be cool. I don't know when OWI is going to start makin' films though, and I don't like the whole waiting thing, but I can handle it.

Well it was in their original plans to make the films darker, and contain things that the games only scratched the surface on.

Hopefully, those plans are still alive for the near future.

You reckon the film would have voilence in it? I mean real voilence, like a squad of Sligs down at the shooting range laying lead into poor innocent Mudokons.

By the way, a little off topic but the scrolling text in the banner thing becomes even more annoying when Al The Vykker and oddguy post one after another.

Hmmmm. Well, I'm only keeping the scrolling marquee until after election and then everything is back to normal. In the meantime, you all can vote for oddguy!

Long ago the film was obtainable on VHS but only for a short while. Infact I bought it long ago on ebay but the seller said that it would not work on my FHS and had to re-auction it. Anyways back to the movie; Originally the whole Oddworld Quintology was going to be made into a series of film's but Lorne decided against that and wanted to make them into games first.

It has been said that the movie's are much more indepth than the games were, we'd get to see things such as the Creation of the Mudokon Moon as well as other things that wern't included into the game. Movie's do seem to always be more indepth whenever it's based on something, like showing the characters living their daily lives, etc. You can bet the the movies would be much darker...

Shooting range - Sligs need to learn how to shoot, and don't forget they're extremely trigger happy.

The Odyssey was a greek myth written by an ancient greek writer named Homer. and they made it into a movie.
Odysseus was the main character of the myth, and so obviously the movie as well.

Odysseus and The Odyssey had nothing to do with the Oddworld quintology, or gaming for that matter.

Err I know it has nothing to do with the Oddworld Quintology or gaming for that matter, I was just telling people there is a movie I watched called The Oddysee

I should have said this earlier, but the speculation is a tad irritating, but the original Abe's Oddysee story had to be greatly simplified for the game's purpose, so the film would actually most likely just be the original plot, or more of it than was in the game.

Interestingly, 'Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee' was originally going to be called 'Soul Storm'. However, rather than speculate that the original story did contain the SoulStorm Brew plot as part of it, I'd wager that 'SoulStorm Brew''s name is a nodding appreciation for the great-sounding phrase.
