Trouble getting into Abe's Oddysee

After my PS1 Abe's Oddysee has been gathering dust... I've finally been bothered to plug my PS1 into the TV and start playing it!

I've looked in the forums and elsewhere online before thinking of posting help, so, I just wanted a few tips and confirmation of how to get through AO, 'cos I can barely get past the beginnings of Rupture Farms.

I've been trying to think of ways to get rid of the Sligs in my first attempt, 'cos I kept trying to trap them with those levers in the first scenes. But from what I've gathered, you have to find secret areas and collect grenades... is that right? Do any of yous have any general tips for playing Abe's Odyssee? Thanks.

In both Abe games, you don't have to go into secret areas to clear the game, unless you want the perfect ending. You can get the good endings by rescuing all visible Mudokkons

As for trapping the sligs, why not try to posses them?
Still need help, PM me with the area you're having problems with.

the first level seemed farely simple to me, they trick you a few times in that level just to get you used to it's strategic gameplay, once you get around it it's like really easy, i must admit the level layout is a bit fractured which i find annoying.
