On a similar note, take a look at these two concepts.

Not really anything that catches your eye? Look closer at the signature of the artist. ARZAD. Look familiar?
Here, compare.

Pretty interestng, no?
One topic about Slogs leads to another related tidbit.

Perhaps those concepts are in Steef which would be cool. I know the early Mug concept is an Oddworld concept but what about those other ones?

Never heard of Tremors, sorry, but...

OH MY GOD!! DIPSTIKK YOU MARVEL!! Where'd you get those pictures?? I immediately noticed Farzad's signature. Are they Oddworld related? I doubt it, because the first is shown with a human, and the second is dated '93, but they're still absolutely marvellous and I really wouldn't mind them being in Oddworld at all. Farzad doesn't actually work for OWI, anymore, though, plus I'm not sure he did in 1993.

Dipstikk, you've made my day, and I've only been up 1 and a half hours! *goes to lie down*

EDIT: Arzad, hee hee. That's what I read that sig as the first time I saw the Vykkers concept art years ago. I assumed it was the Vykkers' name.

EDIT: Having investigated the source of those images, they're from the proposed Tremors TV series, aren't they. Aww well. I knew Farzad worked on Jumanji, but I didn't know he worked on Tremors. And also, of course, having said I haven't heard of Tremors, I remember I've seen the first film twice and loved it. Still beautiful pictures, though, I fully reinforce my own over-excitment. :P

EDIT: Plus I don't think it's dated '93, either.

The two on the top were from Tremors. That was the connection I was trying to make. No Steef, though, unless Skillya's ordering the slig army in the FMV. Max, thank you. I likes me attention, that I do.

Edit: The first critter; the shrimp thing, looks lke Anomalocarus, a ten-foot long crustaceal preditor from the Pre Cambran Period. Exept Anomie should be swimming, not plopped on the ground like some freshlu caught octopus.

YOU GUYS MAKE ME BLUSH! What with the revearing and the thanking and what-not.

I'm not sure that's the date at the bottom of his signature. Look at Farzad's sig in the 1%er image, the corresponding number is 25.

I think they're 'lost' creatures, designed but not used. For the upcoming TV series, I think. I read they had written a script for the shrimp thing to be used when the dry lake from the film floods and people start boating. I can't say I'm fluent with the Tremors franchise, though.
