Wired At least we know OWI is takeing their time with Steef!

Did you see the X-factor on Discovery? Well I did at my friends house because I don't have cable. But for what I seen as the little bit of information we got in what OWI is doing I am very realieved that they are taking their time with the game. Its nice to hear Lanning say that he too wasn't satisfied with Munch which makes this next game even more promiseing. It is not what I expected out of Steef. He's viewed as this mad poker face guy. Very strong like and just a bad ass! But at least there is going to be sligs and Vykkers in the next game from what I saw. Were you amazed at that army of sligs moveing through that field in the beginning of the show? I sure was my jaw just droped when I saw that. But all and all I think we should rest assured now that Steef will bring back the Oddworld we knew.

So in finnish its different yes but looks very promiseing and I was satisfied with that little bit of info we got. Like OWI said they are in top secret mode now and what ever we get will be very brief. So whatever they are doing has to be pretty amazeing. So we can rest assured that OWI is not half assing this and are really taking their time!

Those sligs were amazing! I bet they are going to destroy the chicken hillbilly habitat or the mudokens.

Lorne also said that he wants a more edgy feel, so those who were dissapointed with Munch's cartoony look, can rest a little easier...

See, even Lorne admits it! Too much cartoon!

But judging from the FMVs, I'd still buy it.

I'm still laughing at the scene when Munch's heart monitor goes dead. He screams and Irwin (Humphrey?) walks over to it, smacks it and it beeps again. Munch rolls his eyes.

Classic...

Just wondering, but why did you type up another mildly long topic about Steef? Heck we already have 3, and you only re-stated your previous posts in those. Boy, settle down before you have an orgasm(joke)

Yes after seing this show I think Steef will be a great game! I liked seeing how Steef got mad in what looke to be a shop run by a Vykker, then seeing Steef quickly calm himself. Xav, Max, Peter I got your coppies all ready and am going to send them soon. PA, Im not sure, do you still want your copy?

hey dipstikk, thats humphrey, humphrey has flood lights on his head, remember that...
anyway, the music tipped off way too cartoony, same with the sound effects, like in the sonar plantation scene the sound effects and music of munch's expressions wre not that oddworldish, it's really worth buying though!

I saw the X factor, and I was amazed at the difference between MO and Steef. Sligs running at full speed in an open dessert, gave me a "Lord of the Rings" type of battle scene feeling.(I luv dat feelin'!) The water effects as the ship moved through a peacfull mud town was so awesome. And may I just say that Steef is so cool! He wasn't the guy with the gun, but he does have a cool crossbow! I loved the way he could stand up...and run on all fours!
Did anyone see new creatures? From what I saw, my fav was that fat blob! He looked so cool. Oh, and from what Lorne was saying, you aren't supposed to like those chickens. That's good, considering I DON'T!

Lorne has such vision!!! I don't think a Quintology could even fit all his ideas! I kinda feel the same way when I'm writing my novel and I know that I can't make the book go on forever!

Oddworld Inhabitans was SOooo much more professional than the "Crimson Sky" team. I'm not too big of a fan when it comes to flyer games. The CS team was just so scattered with weirdos and slobs that wanted to make a game their way without listening to the guys that were funding em'! If I were them I would have just smiled and nodded! That's why a new team was reasigned. Don't bite the hand that feeds ya, err whatever!

No, the design wasn't really changed, but the sligs in the video looked great. There isn't actually a Vykker model (or at least I didn't see one), but it was in some sketches and looked the same.

The Vykker looked like he was a bartender at the tavern Steef was at in the concept images they showed.

And abeguy I agree with you on the slig army reminding you of Lord of the Rings, I thought the same thing when I saw all of them with the torches from above etc.

And if you guys look in The topic by mojo man, you can download the whole discovery channel from a link Oddipus posted. Even though I taped the program last night, I have to admit from what I saw of the version online, the quality is good for streaming media.

so anyone who missed it, or doesnt have DC you should go download it, its definately worth it, just not the best compared to the actual one on the tv.

Yea Oddsville I wouldn't mind if you send me a copy because I saw it at my friends house but I dident tape it so I would be really greatful if you do thanks One question though was there more footage of OW4 after the first appearence of Steef on that show? Because when I saw it I never saw those Salimander things and the sligs holding torches and the Mudokins fishing and that one eyed slog. Was there more footage at the end of the show? I only saw the first half hour of it because after I saw the Oddworld part showing off Steef I left because I thought that was it. Remember they went to a commercial and then started talking about Crimson Skies again. Was there more Oddworld?

Listening to my downloaded version, yes. It goes Crimson Skies, Oddworld, Crimson Skies, Halo 2, Oddworld, then I stupidly pressed the stop button, so I don't know what else there is.

Yes, you missed a big chunk of Oddworld 4 footage.

Yes there was a lot more. After they showed the Halo 2 segement, there was about ten or more minutes left of OW4 stuff that you missed if you left early. It showed some rough cut gameplay prototype that was running. Along with a couple really great CG sequences: The river scene with mudokon huts, and mudokons moving barrels, and fishing on the river bank. And steef rowing his boat by them. Also the much talked about army of sligs marching through the rain holding torches, and snoozers and industrial weapons visible. Along with a lot of concept art shown, and also some info about Steef and how he changes later in the game. I recomend asking for a copy of the tape. Or watching the show through this link

Copy of Discovery Channel program

Look for the news article on there that mentions Discovery Channel xbox program and click on kliek hier( yes the writing is written in another language). Thanks to Oddipus for posting this link in the other thread, I just dont think many people read his post and caught it as I did.

Make sure you have windows media player, the sreaming version is pretty good, but as stated not as good as the actual program that was on last night was. nevertheless it will give you people who missed it, a lot more information about what most people are talking about.

No problem. Hope you enjoyed it. It looks like more people are finding away to find out what they missed, or are either watching it off the net, or getting copies from people here.

Its really great to see GD so active with actual discussion and debate. Something I havent seen for a long long time.

Watch it from the net? It's audio only...at least it's not showing me any damn footage. Ideas?

EDIT: Oh great, now when I play it, it's not even making any sound... *cries*
