Hmmm, let's see, there's too many to choose from.
  • Endless Love, Endless Road
  • Suteki da ne
  • Simple and Clean
  • Real Emotion
  • 1000 Words
  • Melodies of Life
  • Feel
  • Promised Land
Well, you know me, they're all FF songs. Some I have listed are Japanese songs, but I have the translations, and I love the lyrics for them, and the Japanese itself sounds beautiful.

I noticed Alcar has a FF song in his sig now, FF music must be catching!

For non-FF songs, I would say Unforgiven II, Metallica.

It is! It's all I listen to now on the computer (when I'm on my CD player I listen to CDs).

As for somg lyrics, I'd have to say:

  • Garbage songs (any of them )

  • Melodies Of Life - FFIX

  • That funny song sang in the intro of FFVIII

  • Vanessa Carlton songs (any)

  • Alcar...

    • Eye On Me (that theme from FVIII) It's such a *sniff* beautiful song Not only the lyrics but the actual melody! That piccolo (or some flute like instrument) solo is soooo kick-ass! And the singer's voice (Faye Wong was it?) is beautiful. I'm listening to it right now!
*..but did you ever know, that I had my eye on you.... as if you're never hurt, as if you're never down... shall I be the one for you....*

I also love the lyrics from the Real Folk Blues (the ending theme for Cowboy Bebop). Mai Yamane and the Seatbelts are so bloody cool!

Oh oh oh! That's right, and Cruel Angel Thesis (the opening theme for Neon Genesis Evangelion). Man that was a kick-ass song!

They're the coolest songs!!! They're *sniff* beautiful I have others as well. Heh, most of them are all Japanese - anime songs heh.

Actually FF and anime music is considered "normal" music in Japan. FF and anime singles always reach the charts in Japan and are played on channels like MTV. I know that Melodies of Life and Suteki da ne were very high in the singles chart (number 1 or 2, I think). Also, when Nobuo Uematsu (FF composer) or the female vocalists have made in store appearances, the stores are packed with fans wanting to meet them.

I didn't think so many people actually liked FF music on here. Here's me thinking I'm the only one. Maybe I'll have to start a FF music topic seeing that there are a few of us out there!

Heh, you bet I do! I'm listening to Liberi Fatali right now. Yes I'm an obsessive dork.

Oh I nearly forgot. I also like that song used for the ending theme of NGE. What was it? Fly Me To The Moon?

Oh and that opening theme for BGCT-2040, You Know. That's some kick-ass techno! *hey, gokiken ikaga Romeo-sama, anata wa old type to iware teru.... etc.*

Oh and here comes Mai Yamane and the Seatbelts ... *trails off as he sings The Real Folk Blues: Aishiteta to, nageku niwa, amarinimo toki wa sugite shimatta, mada kokoro no, hokorobi wo, iyasenu mama kaze ga, fuiteru... kawaita hitomi de dareka naite kure.... THE REAL FOLK BLUES! honto no, kanashimi ga shiritai dake...*

If you've ever played Jet set radio (Future or not) you'll know that it has some skilled music with some sweet lyrics. Non Lyric based final fantasy favorite of mine the winning battle theme.. whenever i hear it i think of cloud twirling that sword in such a dangerous way *sighs*

My favourites are definitely most of the songs made by Muse.

    One of them is Showbiz

Trying to please you for too long,
Trying to please you for too long,
    Visions of greed you wallow,
    Rhythms of greed you wallow,
    Visions of greed you wallow,
    Rhythms of greed you wallow.

    Muscle Museum

So I'll do it on my own and,
I'll do it all by myself,
    You will never make it.

    Bliss

Everything about you pains my envying
    Your soul can't hate anything
Everything about you is so easy to love
    They're watching you from above

    Hyper Music

You wanted for more than I was worth
And you think I was scared
    And you needed proof
    Who really cares anymore?
Who restrains (just to spit in your face)

    non-Muse songs

-Melodies of Life (both japanese and english versions)
    -One winged angel
    -Otherworld
-Queens of the Stoneage/No one knows
    -Al Yankovic/ The Beer song

Where are all the stupid people from?
And how'd they get to be so dumb?
    Bred on purple mountain range
    Feed amber waves of grains
To lesser human beings, zero feelings

    Blame it on
Human nature, mans destiny (mans destiny)
Blame it on the greediocracy (greediocracy)
    Fear of God
    The fear of change
    The fear of truth
Add the Bill of Rights, subtract the wrongs (there's no answers)
Memorize and sing star spangled songs (when the questions)
    Aren't ever asked
Is anybody learning from the past?
    We're living in united stagnation

    Father!
    What have I done?
I took that 22... a gift to me from you
To bed with me each night
Kept it clean... polished it well
    Cherished every cartridge, every shell
Down, by the creek, under brush, under dirt
There's a carcass of my second kill
Down, by the park, under stone, under pine
There's a carcass of my father William
    Father, where
    have you gone to?
    I swear
    I never thought I could
    I see so many times
They told me to shoot straight
    Don't pull the trigger, squeeze
    That will insure a kill
A kill is what you want
A kill is why we breed

    The Christians love their guns
    The church and NRA
    Pray for their salvations
    Prey on the lower faiths
The story book's been read, and every line believed
Curriculum's been set, logic is a threat
    Reason searched and seized

Jerry spent some time in Michigan
A twenty year vacation, after all he had a dime!
A dime is worth a lot more in Detroit
A dime in California, a twenty dollar fine!
Jerry only stayed a couple months
It's hard to enjoy yourself while bleeding out the ass!
    Asphyxiation is simple and fast
It beats seventeen fun years of being someones bitch!
    Don't think (Stay)
    Drink your wine (Home)
    Watch the fire burn (Be)
    His problems not mine (Safe)
    Just be that model citizen

I wish I had a schilling (for each senseless killing)
    For every senseless killing
    I'd buy a government
    America's for sale
And you can get a good deal on it (a good deal on it)
    And make a healthy profit
    Or maybe... tear it apart!
    Start with assumption
That a million people are smart
    Smarter than one

    Serotonin's gone
    She gave up, drifted away
    Sara fled, thought process gone
She left her answering machine on
    The greeting left spoken sincere
Messages no one will ever hear
    Ten thousand messages a day
    A million more transmissions lay
    Victims of the laissez faire
Ten thousand voices, a hundred guns
A hundred decibels turns to one
    One bullet, one empty head
    Now with Serotonin gone

The man who used to speak
    Performs a cute routine
    Feel a little patronized
    Don't feel bad (bad)
They found a way inside your head (head)
And you feel a bit misled (misled)
It's not that they don't care, yeah
The television's put a thought inside your head
    Llike a Barry Manilow, jingle
I'd like, to teach the world to sing
    In perfect harmony
    A symphonic blank stare, yeah
It doesn't make you care (make you care!)
Not designed to make you care (make you care!)
    They're betting you won't care (you won't...)

Place a wager on your greed
    A wager on your pride
Why try to beat them when, a million others tried?
(We are the whore) Intellectually spayed
(We are the queer) Dysfunctionally raised

One more pill to kill the pain
One more pill to kill the pain
One more pill to kill the pain
    Living through conformity
One more prayer to keep me safe
One more prayer to keep us warm
One more prayer to keep us safe
There's gonna be a better place
Lost the battle, lost the war
Lost the things worth living for
Lost the will to win the fight
One more pill to kill the pain
    Na na na na na
    La na na na na
    Na na na na na
    Na na na na na
The going get tough, the tough get debt
Don't pay attention, pay the rent
Next of kins pay for your sins
A little faith should keep us safe

    Save us
    The human, existence
    Is failing, resistance
    Essential, the future
    Written off, the odds are
    Astronomically against us
    Only moron and genius
    Would fight a losing battle
    Against the super ego
When giving in is so damn comforting

And so we go, on with our lives
We know the truth, but prefer lies
Lies are simple, simple is bliss
Why go against tradition when we can
    Admit defeat, live in decline
Be the victim of our own design
The status quo, built on suspect
Why would anyone stick out their neck?
    Fellow members
    Club "We've Got Ours"
I'd like to introduce you to our host
He's got his, and I've got mine
    Meet the decline

    We are the queer
    We are the whore
    Ammunition
    In the class war

Long post, no? Heh... its my favorite song: The Decline by NOFX. It clocks in at about 18 minutes. You don't really get the full efect from the lyrics alone, though. There are transitions of music between the verses.

I don't think anybody on here remembers the song "Imagine" written by John Lennon. Well that is one of my favorite songs written by him. I know I am an old school type person I like his music and his work. And whats profound is that his music still applies to todays issues in all aspects. Lennon was a genus when it came to music and art.

I also enjoy the songs "Stairway to Heaven" and "Going to California" which was written by Jimmey Page "Led Zeplon."

Alot of the songs of the latter half of the sixties and seventies have great memorable lyrics to them.

    • One hand In My Pocket (Yet again, from the Album Jagged Little Pill)
    • Not the Doctor (From Jagged Little Pill)

That's the heavily censored version. You would think they wouldn't change the chorus of a song though woudn't you?

    Here's the real lyrics:
I take a couple uppers, I down a couple downers
But nothing compares to these blue and yellow purple pills
I've been to mushroom mountain, once or twice but who's countin
But nothin compares to these blue and yellow purple pills

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God.
You see things, and you say 'why'. But i dream things that never were and i say 'why not'.
