and i have the []s around both the img and before the / on the /img.... why isnt it working?

Geocities doesn't allow image linking from other websites besides it's own.

You have to find a server that will allow you to do that, one example some of us use and used to use:

http://groups.msn.com/oddworldspectator

ALSO: Signature images cannot be in excess of 400 (width) x 125 (height).

Jippii's Photo service
It's 100% free and you only have to sign up for the photo account to open.
Only problem is that the whole thing is in Finnish.

Anyway, if you are still having problems, I could upload the image for you. Just e-mail the picture to me...
