Do you all hate sequels like I do? I was wondering if there is any single sequel that is better than the first.
Name some you think are worthy.

I like em if they actually got a meaning behind them, but like the new charmed series its just gay and not worth wasting my precious time watching it.

Rush Hour 2 was very well done over Rush Hour 1 in my opinion.

On the whole, most sequels either fall short or equal their previous movies.

The only sequels I can think of were worth the time watching was the Star Wars movies because its an on going epic and The Alien movies excludeing Alien Resurrection.

Final Destination 2 was by far one of the best sequels i've seen...

It all depends on what sequel it is. Some are better that the first (Aliens, The Godfather 2) and some are just pathetic.

I want to see Final Destination 2. The crazy movie lady in our paper gave it four stars.

"Austin Powers in Goldmember" was the best Austin Powers out of the three in my opinion. I also thought "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" was better then "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring". It usually depends on what the director is after, more money or pleasing the fans.

Its more or less divided half and half. Some are good, some are bad. Aliens and LoTR2 are both decent examples of good movie sequals. Resident Evil/3 and Crash Bandicoot 2/3 are good examples of video game sequals. Books... well I have to read more books, but Harry Potter sequals have gotten better.

Austin Powers 3 was total crap compared to no. 1, and even 2.
I laughed twice, the subtitles bit and the Hard Knock Life bit.

LOTR does not count as the books and movies were all planned from the beginning. Unlike others that make the first one, make a lot of money, and decide then to make another.

Well, you may have a point about the LOTR thing.. I was about to use Epidosde II as an example of a technical sequals being worse, pre-written movies rely a bit on storyline. Though the acting and well respresentation can count, those weren't in LOTR2... Guh, did anything I just say make sense?

And you can't tell me that American Pie 2 wasn't better...

Scary Movie 2 is another...

The Omen trillogy... amen to that...

No they weren't! Watch each one after the first one, they reuse all the jokes and it gets more childish everytime. Well... as childish as sex related jokes can get.

It wasn't better. Many reasons. The one that springs to mind is of course Nadia scene. Where was anything as good as that in the second one?

American Pie 2 was so much funnier. You only like the scene with Nadia cause you saw her breasts u perverted monkey (jk).

There was heaps of funny scenes...

1) Jim glues himself to..... himself.....
2) Jim is at the hospital
3) Stifler Investigates the Lesbian Stronghold
4) Stifler's remarks
5) Stifler listening to Oz having phone sex with Heather

Theres heaps more scenes in that movie. Austin Powers 1 to me wasn't all that funny compared to the next 2.

Now then, you can't complain about the Omen Trillogy...

We had to beat them to death with their own shoes... but that's a diffferent story altogether.

I can't decide between them two. I have never seen them in a close enough time space to compare.

We all have different opinions on what a good movie is. Something that seems like crap to one person may be good to another, it all depends on your standards. Probably the worst sequals Iv'e ever seen were Scream 2 and 3. They sucked in my opinion... they sucked bad.

I've never seen either of the AP movies

A sequal to Scary Movie is a horrid idea... I've never seen the 2nd though.

I think I get it though, many time I think sequals are only made if the first movie is popular, therefore the mood and atmossphere of the original is lost. Yea... thats probably it.
