The following three quotes are my posts on this topic and view of posting:
:
And please dont post just to boost your post count, I find it quite frankly annoying when others post just to look cooler In ranks, I see people here who still just post spam to try and look like they are better members when, in fact they post nothing of true value or meaning. Post true things that you think, or come from within not just to try and better yourself, and you will be a great addition to the Oddworld Forums Family.

No Xavier, I dont think that way about you. You are a dedicated member, and have never really spam, its not always how long a post is, its what the content is, and how much it really adds to a discussion or to the forum. In which you exceed in all those areas. Check my post om Toonami in Off topic, I mention you and its good. You may have over 6000 posts Xav, but all those posts you earned. And you worked your way up like most people here such as myself. All the way up to where we are now. I may have below 1000 posts, but that does not mean Im better or worse than you, we are all equal.

I think some members who spam a lot and are newer to the system believe they will become mods from posting a lot. This is the farthest way from becoming one. Mods are elected most of the time by the members thus with the election of Xav and myself. We werent just elected overnight. I know Xav and I first came here as members over a year ago. And worked our way up being good members, being dedicated, contributing a lot, not just boosting our post counts. And made a great impression. And worked all the way to the point where we were elected like most of the other mods for our deeds, and how they viewed us as great people for each of our areas on the forums.
We are not better than anyone we just help the admins, and work alongside (mods) with the other mods in the staff to try and make this place fun, and enjoyable for you. We are your spokespeople, and also make sure the forum runs smoothly. Hence Moderating the different sections from Off topic to General Discussion to OIPT to Fan Corner to RPG. All of us have our areas we try and take care of. And then the Admins take care of the site as a whole, and will also occasionally go through and check up on how we are doing. It shows because a suggestion such as the removal of the post count first went through Employee lounge. All of the staff voted on it, and then it was moved to suggestion and the members voted on it also. That is a prime example of it being democratic and equal.
As I have stated and your opinion is similar to mine. Its not how many posts you have, its the content thats important of what you have.
Thus Quality over Quantity. Thats one of my important advice I can give out. Im glad more people agree with that than just myself.
