Hi, I thought for my first thread with something ODD!

why do vykkers enjoy surgery so much and why do they like hurting things?

Well thats just the way they are, they injoy it. Hey, if you grew up in the Saddistic and Corrupt side of Oddworld you just might be the same way. Another thing that contributes to thier crazed ways is Moolah. Over the years Oddworlds Industrialists became obsesed with this paper and gold god, it ment everything to them, power, status, wealth, etc.

They said what i was going to say, but i thought it would be a great opportunity to plug my stories...

The Orkhids are exactly the same way, apart from the fact that they can be born too good, good, too bad and bad. Bad being the 'normal' personality trait for a Orkhid. If they are checked out and found to be too good or good then their elders try and convert them. If that fails...they get killed. Same goes to the ones that are bordering psychotic...if they cant be toned down they're killed. Until you just have a race full of f*cked up creatures...

But what kind of pleasure do they get out of it and why do they not think
about how a meep or fuzzle feel??

Well, because they were raised like that. Very selfish creatures.

To them, meeps and fuzzles are lower beings. The Vykkers are like giant 50 ft. tall godzillas, and to them the other creatures are like little mice. They don't care how those things feel, because they are like dirt. All that matters is what's in it for themselves (the Vykkers).

According to the official site vykkers do what they do simply because they enjoy causing other creatures pain. Who knows why this is? Maybe a fault in their gene pool or something. Maybe a horrible event in their past. The only clue we have is that they themselves have very low pain tolerance. Perhaps they are jealous of those who don't cry like babies whenever they get hurt. So they torture those creatures to see them cry too.
