Our there Mudokin children being trained?

Are there Mudokin children? Or are they born as an adalt ready to go to work for the Glukkens?

I would like to see little Mudokin children being treated harshly as school children in some kind of Magog learning facility. But the Magog school would be a harsh place of learning. It would be a sad and dark place of slave training. I can see Vykker instructors and a Glukken princpal makeing the Mudokin children clean floors and do other not so wounderful tasks. And if the Mud kids get out of line. Well lets just say that they would be sent straight to the Principal's office for their behavier. And since this is Oddworld you know exactly what I mean by saying that!

In other words the Magog school would show the Mudokins the fear and sadness of their short rough lives.

I can see Mudokin children going out for recess in a not so friendly playground but if they try to leave the playground sligs would sick their slogs on them hehe!

It would be a school from hell if their was one on Oddworld. Like once the Mudokins hatch out of their eggs they stay with Sam for a little bit in the nursery so they can grow. Then they would be sucked up in these tubes and put into caged transports, and sent to practically a sort of boot camp type learning facility somewhere on Oddworld. The boot camp would resembol a slig Berrecks. Then shiped to the factories. I can see a led sign saying "Mudokin children at play, if threaten by them, please consaught your local slig rent a cop!" or another sign saying "Warning Mudokin/ Slog play area!" hehe!

I assume that when mudokons are born they are no bigger than the egg they hatched from. Given their short life span I believe they mature to adult very quickly. I highly doubt the Magog Cartel would waste any energy training the mudokons.

Mudokons aren't trained, it cost too much Moolah.
and yeah there are baby muds, you can see one in the parution of the daily deception when you got black quarma. And there is a pic of them on the eggboxes

I hope there is Mud kids as OWI would have a chance to get even darker with the issues surrounding child abuse etc. Also i too believe that the Cartel wouldn't train up the kids and if a kid stepped out of line im sure they would just beat it instead of killing it. I like the idea of the tubes and the caged transport though...that'd be interesting to see...

Actually child abuse would fit very well into the oddworld games. I don't get emotional trying to "save the whales" or "save the rainforests" which is mainly what the games will be about but when it comes to slavery and abuse of the mudokons that would really give the gamers something to fight against.

Child Abuse in the form of sexual, physical and mental would be better than many of the others i believe. As Khanz said it would give gamers something to fight against...

Xavier is right about the first type of abuse.

But like Jacob said, seeing young mudokons abused physically and mentally would make the gamer want to blow the glukkons to bits. It would give the gamer a reason to play. The glukkons would pay for their cruelty.

But it is a sensitive issue and I don't think we will see it in the games.

Well OWI said that they where gonna try to tackel all the problems that exist here on earth in thier games (or just the really big ones). Im highly sure that they will tackle the child abuse issue in future games, just not getting to indepth so as not to offend people who have been abused as children or even just regular people.

well, the first question who comes in my head is:
"should oddworld stay a child game?"

Yes: so it gots a larger public
No: so it can be harder and have more impact.

I think that oddworld should maintain a balance between child friendliness and seriousness. It should have serious issues that are touched upon but not paraded. So for child abuse as an example, they will show briefly how they are mistreatred but it won't be to graphic.

It is a tough question though. I want a darker Oddworld but I also want the games to have a large audience so that OWI can make some cash.

Haha, Mudokon schools, that sounds funny. If you don't eat your meat you can't have any pudding!!! Lol. Well, there probably are Mudokon babies, how could a 6 foot tall Mudokon fit in a tiny egg? Well, I think they have to reach a certain age before they can work. Probably only 3. When they first start working, I guess a Slig just shows them where to go, and tells him quick what to do. Thats my theory. Heh, Mudokon schools..... *walks to TV still giggling about it, and watches Trigger Happy TV on Comedy Centeral*

well about the baybe mudokons: I can say they arent totaly devlopped when Sam leg the egg. They are only fetusses.

Interesting topic...I really dont have much to say on the issue. Seeing different ages of life in the future games...Example: Younger Muds or other creatures...would be realistic..and interesting to watch. Also training for Muds...Nope..Wont happen...Glukkons really dont care about them...nor want to spend the Moolah. So i dont see why they would train them.

For glukkons: mudokons = miserables things that can work and that make profit for us.

The whole Child abuse thing is unlikely to be touched upon due to its immensly sinisterness. You may notice that in the other games the main problem was focused around indigeous creatures. Only the Mudokons were really putting a proper point across and that was about Slavery, Munch was really about animal testing and extinction (Something the past games already touched on). It would be interesting though to see a child Mud on its back, scrambling back into a dark corner as a Slig advances on it with a Cattle-prod or something. The Camera would then make its way out of the room and then around a corner whilst the sound of the kid screaming could be heard. Many game developers would delve into the violent adult side but when it comes to proper morals etc such as abusing kids in all manners they steer clear of it. When i get my game created (Yes, im still dreaming) and when Death goes Awol one of the main missions is to take out a group of murderers who are past their 'sell-by-date' one of them being a Paedophile. The game is immensly interactive and you can go through police records etc and read of his past charges. You can even follow him and actually see him pick up the Rent-boys that patrol the street. I give it at least a good 10 yrs before my game could be produced...

I am trying to describe something like in that story "Oliver Twist." Where you had all the orphan children being treated baddly in that school. But for Oddworld it would be more sadistic. I am just trying to see how the Muds are treated to dicyplin.

I have a feeling that Munch's Exoddus might touch the child abuse subject alittle. So far all I really know about ME is that it will have something to do with Munch's can of Gabbiar, which leads me to belive that one of the Gabbit children gets kidnapped or something in thoughs terms.

ME wont have the Gabbit things being kidnapped. It'll be about Sea Rex Hunting (Whale Hunting), enviroments being damaged, animal testing, slave labour and will have a brief appearance of Sam...
