CD-ROM Drive, anyone?
Yes, I know it's not the weekend, but I'm getting irritated. The problem is my CD-ROM drive - it's rubbish. Half the time it won't 'turn on' when I start my computer (I say 'turn on' for lack of a better term). It's slow. It's noisy. Which is why I'd like a new one.
Frequent readers of my topics in Off-Topic will recall that most of them seem to be with computer-related troubles. Perhaps I send out undetectable kaputtions or something that render all electrical objects useless. Whatever, I'd like to know if someone could recommend a good, decent, dare I say it, inexpensive CD-ROM thingy that'll do at least a half-decent job?
Don't recommend a 12x Atapi, despite their high praise they're rubbish. Or at least, the two I had were. The first caught fire and melted the motherboard, the other (the one I've got now) doesn't work half the time and turns itself off whenever you open the disk drawer.
Cheers,
Maxaham
