What would happen if Munch tryed to possess...

What would happen if Munch tryed to possess a security orb?
Would it zap him or would he possess it?

What would happen if Munch tryed to possess a slig?
Would nothing happen or would he possess its pants and/or gun?

Slig: Nothing will happen.
Orb: Hmm, I doubt it will zap him because he isn't really chanting so I guess he could possess it, if there are any.

Yea, I dont think he could possess a slig.

Munch....What I see, is that he just thinks really hard about posessing the machinery...and then yellow sparks/lightning bolts shoot out of his pluggin and he possess's them.

The thought of a Slig's possessed pants make me laugh!!! Can you imagine it... these pants moving by themselves and the Slig not knowing what's going on!!!

As for security orbs it would make sense that Munch could possess them... but there would need to be some way to surpress Munch from chanting in some areas too... so they might either have them effect both characters... or have a different kind of surpressor for Munch (such as if there is an area where Munch will be able to possess, but Abe can't, etc).

He could probably possess the orb, but there will probably be anti-machine-possession machines too.

And he probably won't be able to possess sligs... but that would be cool, wouldn't it! possessing its pants, make him run off a cliff as he squeals in uncomprehending terror... mwahahahaha... >=D

I dont think there will be machines that won't allow Munch to possess things. The only reason there are for Abe is because there are tons of Mudokons walking around, and the cant chant. There is only one gabbit, and only one that can possess. Glukkons wouldn't mass produce a ton of orbs just for munch!

Exactly what I was thinking Elum. Since he's the only creature on Oddworld (assumingly) there wouldn't be anythin that could stop him doing it. Perhaps part way through the game however, Vykkers or Glukkons will devise a way to prevent machinery being possessed, or maybe just use less mechanical slaves to stop him and just use organics. This whole thing reminds me of the Transformers: Beast Machines battle between technological and organic beings.

I dont know about beast machines...but actually, I bet OI ends up setting it up where when Munch or Abe chants it shocks them. I mean, if they wanted to be unrealistic.

Something to prevent Munch from 'chanting' would figure, but I doubt it would be mechanical - after all, he'd be able to possess it...!

I can imagine a 2D Oddworldworld game for Munch (I have difficulty imagining this scene in 3D) where Abe needs to possess a Slig, but there's a security orb. To overcome the situation he needs to drink SoulStorm Brew, then blow up the device that stops Munch from possessing stuff. Then Munch can possess and blow up the security orb. Okay, so I'm not a good level-deigner, but I tried.

A Slig wondering what's happening while his legs are doing the cancan would be...frankly, ballistik. But don't forget the Sligs have direct mind control over their legs, too.

I don't think sligs have any mind control over their pants (they're to stupid). I always figured that they had a joy stick in their pants that they move with their tails.
Maybe Munch needs to be able to consentrate when possessing... so if it is to loud in that place or something like that, he can't possess anythink.

The pants have wires which connect to thier mask and the mask goes to their brains!

no, i think that wires are connected to nerves in their tails, which carry the signals to their brains. at least, i hope so, because i have a disabled slig in my fic, who broke his spine just above the tail, so couldn't use pants or wings. i think that idea is cool, so i hope lorne had the same idea.

in fact, a slig who couldn't use pants would be a pretty cool character.

Sligs don't have wires that contect there bains or their spines to their pants. Their masks are only there to hide their uglyness and if they had wires hanging out of their tails we would see them when their crawling around.

no, the wires don't stick out of the tail, there are electrodes in the pants that stick in, so they can't be seen when the pants are off.

besides, when have you ever seen a slig's tail up close, oddguy?

yes, the hero would have to crawl around, but there might be little vehicles he could use sometimes or something. i don't know, i just think it'd be cool.

In the AO manual and on the offical web site there is a picture of a crawling slig. I couldn't see anything in or on its tale.

A disabled slig would rock as a main character, if they use their tail to use Pants & Wings. I'm assuming, like humans, his other senses and abilities would strengthen because of his inability to use Pants or Wings. I think he'd be much stronger and possibly faster because of it. Plus he'd be in the slig's natural form, no machinery, so he might find new abilities which other sligs are not aware of since they rely so much upon their pants, hence weakening their physical self.
