Question Where did the Almighty Raisin come from?

Hi! I was just wondering where the Almighty Raisin came from. He wasn't in AO or AE but in MO he was just there. He sort of replaced Bigface. So does anyone know where the Almighty Raisin came from?

Ha ha, this is where I step in!

The Almighty Raisin is an Elderling, a very very rare creature on Oddworld. It may possibly be that he is the only one. However, as far as the Mudokons or anyone else on Oddworld is concerned, he is an enigma.

'Born' in Northern Mudos, the Raisin spent his first six thousand years of life as an elder tree, but as time wore on, he developed limbs and began to establish himself as a very wise being.

Long ago, when Oddworld was younger and the inhabitants all lived by instinct, he was a tribal advisor. Food chain survival was the most worrying thing on everyone's mind back then, and life was relatively simple.

In his old age, however, the Glukkons and Mudokons began their conflict, and 1000 years since then it hasn't dissipated. Well over fourteen thousand years old now, the Raisin has retired his career as a strategical advisor, and has taken to living in his cave. The Mudokons still realise he is a very wise being, and often go to him for help, much to his annoyance.

The Raisin can also project his mind into the body of Ratz, verminous pests that are all over Oddworld. By seeing through their eyes, the Raisin knows everything that goes on on the surface, and can feel sympathy for all beings, whether they are Vykkers, Mudokons or Paramites. He has also predicted a terrible fate for Oddworld, but feels that he can somehow prevent this precognition from occuring.

In Munch's Oddysee, the Almighty Raisin himself called for Abe and his buddies to pay him a visit, and that is the beginning of the game.

Well heres what I know about the Elderlings...

The Elderlings are probably one of the rarest speices on Oddworld, infact the Rasin is the only known one to exist on Mudos. They spend most of there begining years as Elderling trees (first 6000 years to be exact) as Max said. During these years they become more intouch with nature and see many interesting events play by, such as Wars, Death, Birth, Forest Destruction, Navtive village destruction, the formation of "Abe's" moon, and many other things. Its because of all this that happens before him that the Rasin is so wise.

Once they grow pass the 6000 year mark they go to thier third stage which is what we see the Rasin in today. At this stage they begin to master their meditation methods, learing how to free themselves from thier body and explore Mudos. Our Rasin particularly loves to look through the eyes of a newborn. The Rasin has looked into the personal lives of every inhabitant on Mudos, its because of this that he is able to feel compassion for every creature on Mudos (yes even the Glucks, Sligs, Vykkers, and Interns, etc.). If you look at his skin you can still see what looks to be a pattern of Elderling tree bark, and his small stubbles at the bottom of him where his once gicantic roots.

Sorry if you wanted Max to answer this Im just trying to boost my reputation and gain some sort of Oddworld Knowlege title, like Max and Kanzumer. *Sigh* but I guess that will never happen.

Actually Oddsville you are pretty close. I have been reading a lot of your posts and you seem really knowledgable. Keep it up and maybe someone will stick a title on you. Like Oddworld Almanac.

We have an Oddworld Encyclopedia, a Dictionary and an aspiring Almanac. What reference material will we come up with next?

I believe the limbs Max was refering to are the now-stubby "legs" on the bottom of the Raisin. Once they could be used for movement but now they are nothing more than useless bumps.

Well I never saw a tree that needed to eat anything so I don't think the Almightly Raisin needs to. He is a higher being and probably has other ways of getting energy.

The only thing I would guess he eats is water.... but that would be considered drinking? Anyways, sience he was a tree in he begining years of his life Im guessing that he still has a craving for water of some type. I would figure that the cave has water due to the humid atmosphere and the rain from above.

IF the Vykkers would be smart at all, they would take a DNA sample of the Raisin to see what makes him live so long, and ad that "eturnal" life code into there own DNA and other things.

By the way, at what age does the Raisin get to be senile? I actualy think he is about a third through his life, sence he is now being able to move and grow stuff.

Am I the realistic question generator? j/k
