Pictures eight, yay!

As I've actually done a few vaguely Oddly pictures, I thought I may as well post them... Hm, I seem to be drifting into rather anthropomorhic territory... Oh well.

"Exuberance"
A rather merfish sligette, dancing to something random... Well, semi-random (it's not Stepsish/boy-band, I know that much.

) Drawn while listening to Ibiza Anthems (always a source of weirdness).

Looks like someone's tipped Ivy's usually sweet temper just over the edge... Maybe it's Rach's pirates; she doesn't have much truck with pirates of any sort, they keep trying to nick her technology...
I don't hugely like this one, to be honest, as her anatomy is rather iffy... but look! It has shading! Yay for shading!

And this is a Skrawk; named as such because I tupoed it's filename (Should have been "Squawk" but I had a brainstorm). Somewhat Kleeng-inspired, methinks...

(having looked through their site (her? Are you a her? If not I apologise most profusely...) and looked at all the amazingly weird aliens I thought I'd try have a go... Hm. Didn't quite end up weird enough... never mind.)
I'm not hugely sure what it is - to compare to an earth-type species, I suppose it'd be a carrion-goose. Some of the plains tribes of mudokons use them as "guard-dogs" - they're noisy, like geese, and shout at pretty much anything that either moves or else they don't recognise...

Yeah, Dan, because I'm in the habit of listening to nonexistant CDs...

I wish I could draw that well. Maybe someone should start a topic where someone suggests a picture and multiple people draw it in their image. That would be great. I have some ideas, but I can't draw worth squat diddly. Again, that's really good, Teal.

Another few pictures...

This is the menagerie...

As I got bored in lectures. I wonder what the lecturer would have said... Oh well, I was sat at the back anyway... Just a random busload of weird creatures.

Lalala.

Edit: After my bloody stupid eighteen-hundredth attempt at getting this stupid bloody thing to work, using a variety of codes and links and suchlike, it still manages to mangle my URLs into irrecognisability, so sod it. I'll fix it later. B*stard thing.

These next few are of "Ballu" - he's an ant-bird (like an anteater, but a bird). He has wings a little like a hoatzin, with claws on the "hand" joints, and long claws for breaking open ant-nests, so he walks on his knuckles to stop them getting damaged. He can fly, but not very well, as his wings are a bit scraggly. His "beak" is just a hollow tube: it has a series of small plates that close the tip so he can use it like a hammer/pick, a little like the way a limpet closes its shell...

This was the first draft of a picture of him... His eyes are the right size on this one, on later pictures they got a bit too big...

And in colour... These were the worst coloured pencils in the world ever I was trying to colour this with; horrible scratchy cheap little ones, hence why the colours look so scrappy. Took four hours to colour, as opposed to the usual one or two...

And a couple of bits and pieces about colouration... He folds his wings differently to the average earthly bird - tucks them away under his arm-wing, as that way they're out of the way better.

That Ant-Bird looks very real. I'm assuming that the colours are the male's display colours, or is its natural habitat a paint palette?

Ehhe, yes, males are gaudy to attract a mate...

Nala and Ballu; Ballu is still a puppy, as his arm-wings are still short.

Edit: Grr, the damn thing worked earlier, so why the hell isn't it working now?

And this is just me being silly.

I don't know what Onyx is looking so narky about, I think he disapproves of the legs. Or the fact that he looks like a warning sign, one of the two... (if it works, which I doubt. If not, you'll have to copy/haste again...)

Not hugely oddly, but never mind, as he IS an odd-character...

This is Ihraag (Pronounced EE-ra-ag), he's a cobra-hybrid employed as an assassin, although he was a Gladiator at this point... I'm working at colouring him, at moment, so if I get that done sometime soon...

Cool ant_bird I like the picture as well as the whole concept of the ant-bird. Great colloring on the Ant-bird (I realy like that name, Ant-bird it just roles of the toung) And the baby slig with the ant bird is verry cute. Also like your doodle critters nice and wierd just the way i like em.
So in toto.
