Questions for ODDWORLD

It's about time ODDWORLD for you to answer some questions from us loyal and faithful fans. I have questions and anyone else here who has some of there own as well please feel free to add your own as well.

Question 1 is : Will there really be 200 hours or so of gameplay? It has been said in a earlier interview and a chat that it will be 200 hours if played to the hilt.

2. How many "NEW" characters/creatures will there be.

3. Is Elum making a return?

4. How many new locations or areas will there be.

5. Sea Rex, just FMV or playable, any concrete news?

6. Games out in less the 2 months now, any other secrets out there, come on now, what are they, you want more sales don't you?

Well everyone go ahead and add a few of yours. And ODDWORLD answer some please. So far I have seen very little of new locals and characters, really can anyone name a few new areas or characters that were not in the first two games? What maybe 4 characters or so, Fuzzles, Munch, Rats, anything else? Locals how many new ones, it's supposed to be sooo large a game well show us some more locations.

I know the game will be great, but it seems I have not seen too many new things coming in this game that were not already in the first two games. 3D yes, graphics,Munch, sound , but not as much as of now that I would have expected by this time. Just my 2 cents worth here, Please give yours here as well.

New characters/creatures, well as well as Fuzzles, Gabbits and Rats there's Meeps and Worry Fish. Presumably Meetles are still part of the game, and Raisin. Oh, there's also Vykkers and Interns, they're new too.

New locations? Well, I'm not sure what's playable and what's not, but there's the oceans and beaches where Munch travels in the opening movie, the Paramonian plains (as opposed to forest), all the new Glukkon factories like Splinterz, Magog Motors and FlubCo Fat Fuels Facility. Plus there's Vykkers Labs. All these new things.

The sea rex was a dangerous sea animal? It would be good to have that one ingame. Imagine that you are swimming when playing Munch and suddenly a sea rex chases you! Adraneline! Pure adaneline! Fantastic, not?

i think the Sea Rex is a gameplay thing, can't remember where i heard it though...it would be pretty pointless having it if it wasn't gameplay, WATCHING Munch swimming away from one (fun, i think not)...

i think i heard Elums were in it, how could they leave Elum out?

oooh, ohhh i have one...
7. Will you be able to switch between Abe/Munch while you're posessing something? ie. will you be able to have 2 things posessed at the same time by different chars?

8. Is there a 2 player mode? So you can play with Abe and a friend with Munch? (I read somewhere this was gonna be possible, and on another site I read it wasn't confirmed yet, most other sites say it's only 1 player)

I'm fairly certain that Elum *has* been confirmed for MO. Also, Sea Rex *will* appear, but only in FMV.

I don't think a 2-player mode is likely, seeing as it's listed as 1-player on Microsoft's official website.

Cool so far, come on everyone, more, 2 player at same time option is a great topic, good thought Oddipus.

Max the Mug, thanks a ton also for that dictionary of a mind you have on Oddworld, your post is very helpful to me.

Common guys even more thoughts, who knows maybe they will give a real answer or 2.

And I love the thought of ELUM in 3D, common it better be in this game. They have stated you will have accsess to transports within the game, Elum had better be one.

Keep the thoughts coming.

Cool screen there Xavier.

I have another question. Can you show us a plot plan or layout of an entire section of the game Oddworld. I mean a real area that may take a half hour or so to get through. Just to give us all a real feel for what's to come.

Hey everyone, remember me?

i had a bunch of questions, but they were answered by a new preview at gamespot.

i have hear dhowever, that elum will make a playable appearance, but short enough one to be referred to as a cameo (a la abe's oddysee)

one thing i was always confused about was the artistic change with the mug. y'know...evil meetles? i remember like a year a go, seeing a shot of this cool mug that looked like a slig/scrab....now all the mug pics are just meetles in bad-ass armour....hmmmm

I really want to know more about Gamespeak. In one of the last previews, it was told that we are going to use only three buttons to gamespeak, but it wasn't very clear.

The analog feature will be used to change the way your character talks to other creatures: tapping what I call "the greetings button" the character will say "Hello", but pressing it harder or maybe holding it longer, you will listen "All'ya!" or "Everybody listen!".

But what the other two buttons do??

There is probably one that we can call "the help button". We will use it to ask for help.

Some answers:

I don´t think the game will be 200 hours long. With AO they said 50 hours long. The first time it take me 5 hours to finish it!!!!! ( without the secrets )with the secrets is more long. With AE, the same...

The game only will have 1 player mode, but... somebody played AO or AE with the 2 player mode?

One of the things with more anxiety I wait is to see elum again!!! I hope will have an importan role in the game but the last rumors have depressed me :-( ( I had hear too this some weeks or months ago... elum will make a playable appearance, but short enough one to be referred to as a cameo)

The rats and sea rex will be a not playable caracters

My question: I love the look of the new sligs: Magnum slig and big whammy slig, but I only see them in the art sketches and think perhaps they aren´t in the final game. (Too bad ) Someone of you have seen some image of them in the game screens or know something about this theme?.

Finally, I really think OWI don´t have show a lot of new things for keep the mistery . With AE they made the same. Until the last moment they show very little of the game, only a few screens of necrum mines, I remember... I think this is good for the game and for us

Well they said if you play the game looking for every detail and secret etc, etc.... the game can take up to 200 hours, this had been confirmed in a chat, and in a Lorne interview, but I still want to hear it once more. Sure a 50 hour game can be played in 5 hours if you run through it mindlessly, what's the purpose or accomplishment with that.

Enjoy the game, play it and conquer it,what's the rush, you wait forever it seems to play your favorite games such as this just to rush through it, not me, that makes no sense.

It took me 35 hours or so to play the first two games each, that's 70 hours total, enjoying and conquering all facets of the game.I play these games well but I like to stop and smell the roses in the elite games as well.

I'm not asking for all the games secrets, that would be foolish, just a bit more than what we already know,we are the true fans here, so give us something more to chew on.

How about ELUM? Well will he be playable with Munch? Show another aspect of the game, not everything, just a crumb or two.

I remember somewhere (I'm losing track of all the previews I've read) that Abe will ride vehicles that breath and eat (they said something wittier, but what the heck) and Munch will control vehicles with treads and tires (through his plug). I don't know if this is accurate, but if it is it seems not only Elum will be a ridable creatures...

Hello Steel Shark:

MO can take 200 hours ?, If only it were so!! or 250 or 300.... how much...better. Of course, I think finish the game a lot of times, with all the secrets, equal than AO and AE. I only tell the game can not be so long than they said.

Anyway I tell you AO and AE are the games that more times I have played (and finished) and... when I play with our dear games sometimes, in some screens, I am several minutes seeing the marvellous game´s art. I can say you, now, finish the games take me a little more time

Do you think Alf capitalizing his YOU's means something? I can't wait till the next site update. *twitch* *twitch* I hope they have some cool new pics. Did anyone else notice Alf's columns sound like a OI sales pitches around 2000, and as it gets closer to MO release he gets more and more cryptic?
