Jail Break

(ooc: this takes place a couple of days after the 'Recovering' topic...so Teal you can still post that last bit needed on that one.)

Spider paced in his cell fuming; he couldn't believe he was stuck in here after all the things he did to protect the village. He didn't particularly care for his neighbor in the next cell either...Arim; who had be moaning and groaning about 'squid-faces' the whole time he had been in here. He made a couple of snide comments about him as well...and that didn't help Spider's temperment any. He had come close to smacking the creep a couple of times already, but was able to restrain himself...barely.
"Well lookie what we got here..." Spider heard a familiar voice say and his temper immediately flared.
"Malice..." Spider growled as she turned around to face the red crossbreed that was grinning at him from the other side of the bars...and just out of his reach. "What are YOU doin' here!?"
"Oh I just thought I come by to visit..." Malice grinned, "To see how my inferior was doing...oh and don't bother calling for the prison guards..." He held up a decapitated sligs head...a fresh kill. "They are all dead..."
Spider howled with fury and charged. He collided with the bars with a loud clang and tried to swipe Malice across the face...but the red freak was still just out of his reach and he laughed at him.
"Want to get me that bad eh?" Malice taunted.
"I'm goin' to kill you fer what you did...." Spider snarled.
"Well...you can try...here." Malice suddenly tossed a set of keys toward him, landing just within his reach. Spider looked down at them...a bit surprised.
"Better hurry and use them..." Malice taunted as he danced back down the hall, "'Cause I am getting aaawwwwaaayyyyy...."
Spider, beside himself, growled, grabbed the keys, and started fumbling to get this cell door open.
"Oh...almost out of time Spider..." he heard Malice say from down the hall, "I am almost out the door...."
Finally Spider got the right key and unlocked his door. He threw it opened and charged down the hall after Malice, his pants skidding slightly around the corners. Malice, who was at the door, saw him coming, laughed and bolted out it. Spider ran out right after him, frightening a passerby as he tore around a corner and into an alley.
He chased him clear across the clearing and into the forest. Not long after (and very much to his frustration...), Spider lost sight of him, so he started tracking by scent. But the fate's were against him today...as it started to rain...wiping out all scent trails.
"I DON' CARE HOW LONG IT TAKES!!!!" Spider howled...nearly in a roar, "I WILL FIND YOU MALICE!! AND WHEN I DO I WILL MAKE SURE YOU WILL NEVER HURT ANYONE AGAIN!!!"
Spider howled furiously, even the rain didn't seem to dampen it....

spiders might had been able to calm down quicker if not for the sudden entrence of a pink-lavender female mudokon and a young slig with a yellow blaze down his snout. they seemed to be out of breath,as if running from something. the two stopped,breatheing hevily,and not noticeing spider.

" i..can't..do this..much longer.." the slig gasped.

" yeah,i know what you..mean.." the mudokon gasped back. she then gave a ferice look towards the direction they had came. " enough of this running then, we'll have to fight."

" oh goody." the slig said dryly as he went to lean on a tree, which acutelly happen to be spider. ounce feeling the odd "tree" the slig turned to look, comeing face to face with spider.

" what the frag!!" he yelped and jumped over to the mudokon. " i think we got trouble ali!"

the female mudokon,ali,turned to see what was bothering her companion. surprize, then a defensive look crept onto her face. ali bouldy stepped forward.

" o.k buddy,i don't know what you are but if you make one move that could result in harm for me and zander i swear i'll whoop you so hard it won't even be funny!"

(ooc: hmm wasn't expecting this but it will kill time hehe. OH and I am actually going to go ahead and describe Spider here...so bear with me...)

Spider looked down at the odd pair, still furious that he lost Malice and annoyed at being threatened like this. He took a moment to calm down long enough so he wouldn't just kill them on impulse. He took a couple of deep breaths and turned toward them fully, turning around easily in his spider like pants.
He was big...but not quite as big as a Big Bro; 7 ft at the shoulder, though with his head fully raised he reached just over 8 ft. Body shape was like a Big Bro...only his head was more box shaped and he bore only 3 face tentacles, each tipped with a claw and looked more like a paramites tentacles then a sligs. He also had a long prehensle tail, about 5 ft long. Down his back and tail was a single row of dark green spines. There were more spines on the back of his neck...6 total, running from halfway up to the back of his neck in two rows of three.
His dark green skin blended easily with the forest background...though his bright yellow dragon-like eyes sometimes gave him away. On his chest was a silver tattoo of a flying dragon.
Spider's tail twitched in agitation, but not at Ali and Zander. His expression was one of indifference mainly...with a little bit of annoyance. Finally he spoke:
"I am Spider, a Drakkic crossbreed if you really care...and if yer lookin' fer shelter..." he said in a deep voice with an obvious slig accent, "There is a village that way..." He pointed in the direction of Pyke. "I suggest you two get there quickly...there is a killer on the loose 'round here and he wouldn't hesitate to kill you."

ali continued to glare, not sure to let her guard down or not. it was zanders tentive touch on her shoulder that got her to ease out of her attack postion.

" i don't think hes going to hurt us ali."

" well...o.k,if you think so,but if he ends up killing us, i'll kill you." with she looked to dragon, her eyes not fully trusting.

" i don't what a " drakkic" is, much less a drakkic crossbreed and i know nothing of this killer but the only reason we were running in the first place is cause zander here suggested we retreat from those sligs who should be coming this way any time now." at that the noise of pursueing creatures broke from the forest. ali frowned. " right on cue,looks like we fight." she turned,ready and eager for the scrap.

"Why are they after you?" Spider asked as he looked toward the source of the sound. By reflex he stepped in front of him, his back arched and head low. "I'm in a mood fer a fight...I need to let out some frustration..." He grinned, showing his sharp dagger like teeth. Then he let out a loud howl, directed at the creatures that were approaching. He doubted it would shake them if they were a determined bunch...but it make shake them up a bit...

" not sure why" ali murmered as she stepped up next to spider, partly to be able to get in a good first attack if her pursuers insisted and partly to show spider she didn't NEED to be protected. " i suppose the only way i could find out is to get caught,and thats something i don't want to do."

the noise ofthe oncoming creatures stopped, heesitateing to go forward do to spiders roar. something quite understandable since they were only about a dozen normel sligs.

" err... i don't think we should go forward, sounds like theres something dangerous up ahead"

the lead slig, scarred as if he got in a fight with a lawnmower and lost snorted. " whatever it is up ahead could do could be no worse then what wanseny will do if we don't bring that mudokon to him...or what i'll do to you if you don't get moving! now go!" he snarled,cracking his whip like tail. at that the sligs moved, not wanting to face the wrath of xaiver.

(ooc: just so you know...Spider is quite capable of taking out that whole squad...well maybe it will take a bit of work with Xaiver...but I won't have him kill anyone...)

Spider grinned again, then suddenly rushed forward, catching the first two sligs with his paws and lifting them up into the air.
"I am not into killin' unless pressed." Spider growled, "So don' press me!"
Two of the other sligs stopped short in fear of him...having heard of Spider's old rep.
A third, either not seeing him or was ignorant to Spider's past, ran past and headed toward Ali and Zander.

ali snorted and with sudden speed jumped kicked the slig in the face,sending him flying back.

" you guys aren't too bright are you? " she smirked.

zander gulped slightly, his eyes upon xaiver who was glareing at him from the back of the 12 slig army, not makeing a move. despite this zander stood next to ali,trying to appear brave. ali smiled,noticeing most of the sligs were quivering.

" i suggest you all clear out before my...friend.. here takes care of all of you."

that did it, the other sligs,includeing the one ali kicked back away, retreating.

'i don't care what wanseny does, i'm not messing with this thing!" one slig yelped and took off, the others followed, the fastest being the two sligs spider had lifted. the only one who had not retreated was xaiver. he snorted in disgust.

" cowards." he turned to ali,zander,and spider. " well..three agasint one eh? not fair is it, then again...i've never played fair either.." his tail lashed out.

" get back! and watch the prongs for sparking,he shootso ut electricy!" ali barked and jumped back from xaivers tail.

Spider easily dodged Xaiver's tail, then did something surprising: He got out of his pants and disappeared into the underbrush with surprising speed. It looked like Spider was running away...but he wasn't.
Instead he stealthly flanked Xaiver, using his coloration to blend into the forest. Then at the right moment, he charged out from behind Xaiver, turned sharply and knocked Xaiver's pant legs out from under him with his tail...

(ooc: plz don't have Xaiver do anything to Spider's pants...they are vital to a point in the main plot he is in later on...)

xaiver snarled and wrapped his tail around spiders arm from his postion. surprizeingly xaiver was able to throw spider a good distance. xaiver then got up and lifted his tail over his shoulder, the prongs touching and a electric ball forming.

" you will pay for that freak." he growled.

Spider rolled as he landed, stood up and snarled at what he was called.
"I may be a freak of nature..." he growled, "But I have more honor then you'll ever have!" When he saw the electric ball he laughed, "What to play with electricity eh? Two can play at that game..."
At that moment, Spider's eyes changed from yellow to silver and arcs of electricity arced about his body.
He looked back briefly at Ali and Zander.
"You two...get in a tree...fast!" he said as he turned his attention back to Xaiver...a sly grin on his face.
As soon as they were safe he slammed both paws on the ground and a ring of electricity spread out from him...

ali and zander wasted no time in scrambleing up a tree. ( well,ali scrambled,ali pulled zander up.) as for xaiver, it was clear he was quite surprized by spiders attack. thinking quickly he lashed his tail up to a branch and hauled himself up off the ground, the attack missing. ounce sure the ground was safe xaiver looked up at spider and smirked.

" seems you have a few tricks up your sleeves as well. prehaps it be better if we stopped trying to kill eachother and talk, after all, you seem to be an intelligent..err..creature. now listin, i'm really not in the mood to trade punches with you so why not stand aside and let me do my job."

" stuff it up you facehole xaiver!" ali snapped from the trees.

Spider laughed.
"You obviously work for the Cartel...and I have no love fer them." Spider said with a low growl, "And I am not about to let a servant of the Cartal 'do their job' here. So...that means you got two choices...fight me to get to them...or give up and go away..."
Spider balanced on one handfoot while raising the other, a ball of electricity forming around it.
"Yer choice bud.." Spider said casually, "I don' like to fight unless necessary...and but I really don' like jerks like you. And if yer goin' ter call me things...I'd rather you call me Spider, Drakkic or " he winced slightly, "Crossbreed 738...I much prefer Spider or Drakkic."
Spider looked at him daringly.
"Well?"

xaiver frowned, not at all happy his plan hadn't worked. xaiver glared at his oppeant, not sure of his next move. he then lowered his tail.

" very well then,i'll back off, for now. but i'm warning you now, stick with that female and.." he glared at zander " that traitor.."

zander winced visabily at those words.

" then your involveing yourself in something bigger then you thought."

withthat he turned and left,not bothering to look back.

Spider waited until Xaiver was far away before returning to his normal state.
"Peh..." He snorted as he walked back over to his pants and put them back on, "He probably says that to all sligs that turn against the Cartel." He looked up at Ali and Zander, "You can come down now."
Dam...I can't escort them to the village... he thought when he realized the fix he was now in, Those bountied in there will try to catch me again...and I can't keep them with me...they are too tempting a target for Malice....
He paced a bit...thinking...

ali jumped down from the branch she was perched on while zander climbed down slowly. after clearing her throat a bit ali approached spider.

" err... look,i don't say this often but...thanks, you really helped us."

Spider stopped his pacing and smiled at her.
"Don' mention it." He said, "I help those that I can..to help uh...change an unfavorable rep I got when I was still captive..." He looked back in the direction Xaiver went. "We are both in the same boat it looks like...we all are wanted by the Cartel fer some reason or another."

" is that so? personely i have no idea why their after me. i was doing what i uselly do at my old "workplace" if you could call it that, when i suddenly find my self being dragged off. the only stupid explanation i get is something about my "real" owner. i probebly be whereever that place was if not for the train wreck" after takeing a big breath after all of this she looked to spider. " whats your story?"

(ooc: I'm going to do my best to keep it short...it is basically the same as his fic 'Spider' with a few differences...well the first part...I'll go in segments give you a chance to react to some bits...)

"It's a long one..." Spider said with a sigh as he leaned against a tree.
"AS you already know I am a crossbreed...a mix of different creatures. In my case its slig, paramite, and dragon. I was 'created' as the prototype to a new kind of soldier the Cartel could use against the rebellion. But I was fortunate to be taken under the care of a Vykker named Bastek, who did things 'differently' then the other Vykks. Instead of torment he treated his subjects with kindness. I was under his care for the first year of my life...I probably would have remained under his care if he had..." Spider had to pause for a moment, the pain of that one horrible day still plagued him, "had not been killed by one of his own colleages...Mryon.
"With Bastek out of the way...Mryon started running tests...painful tests..to see if I could bythe soldier they wanted. But I was considered 'too soft' to be used as a full fledged soldier..so instead he used me as the 'guinie pig'...." He shuddered. "However with the help of my father's...err...I mean Bastek's former assistent...I was able to escape into the main compound."
Spider looked squarely at Zander, "You won't like this next part..." Without giving Zander a chance to ask 'why' he continued:
"For the next two years, I wandered the halls of that compound, lost and unable to find my way out of the compound itself. To survive I had to resort to drastic measures: I hunted and ate sligs for food, did the same with any Gluks and Vykks I could catch as well. I didn't touch muds though..."

zander looked slightly sick at the mention of spider eating sligs.

" i'm not feeling very well..."

" hush zand,i'm sure he doesn't eat sligs unless he has to." ali scolded,then looked back to spider. " that certainly already sounds worse then what i've gone through."

"Don't worry kid...I don't eat sligs anymore." Spider said reassuringly, then continued.
"Then I was caught once again and put under more tests and torture. But fortunately...Bastek's old assistant was still around...and he freed me once again. During my escape I avenged Bastek's death and took back what was the last thing he had given me before he was killed." He patted one of the legs on his pants, "This is the reason I was named Spider. Anyway...
"This time Bastek's assistant took me all the way out..outside the compound. But that was his last act...he was shot and killed just before I going through the exit." He hung his head in sorrow for a moment, then shook off and continued once again.
"Since then I have been on lam so to speak, evading capture and gaining the favor of the natives. However.." he glared in the direction of Pyke, "Some natives have been corrupted it seems by the Cartel...that village I was directing you toward before is where some of them are. I did a lot to help that village...and then they turn around and stabbed me in the back...I only just escaped from prision in there. The whole place is overrun by a slig army...each and every one of them looking out for those that are on the Cartel's wanted list...including me."

" figures" ali grunted " defintinely can't go there, zander could go there easily,all he have to do is rub dirt on his mark and blend in. me though..well...seems theres not suppose to be females of my kind of mudokon. that makes it kinda hard to blend in."

Spider sighed...then he remembered something.
"Actually...in that village there are a lot of female muds. I know one of them...her names Blue. You can probably stay with her." Spider looked about, sniffing the air. "I would keep you with me...but it is too risky...not with Malice on the loose..."
Spider fumed quietly at the thought of that red crossbreed having eluded him...

"Malice is another crossbreed like me." Spider said with a scowl, "Only he enjoys killing others...and rearranging their organs...sometimes while the victim is still alive. He doesn't use pants...he doesn't need them. I don't either really...I use mine mainly for travel.
"He is crafty...fast...and not afraid of anything. Don't think yer safe in the trees from him either...he is as agile as any native tree dweller in them...as am I. If you DO meet up with him...you better pray yer frackin' fast enough to get back to town.
"You'll know him when you see him too...if you even get a chance to see him before he attacks...he's blood red in color..with a lot more spines then me..."

"If Xaiver lives long enough to offer a partership..." Spider said with a frown, "Malice doesn't care who he kills, even if its other members of the Cartel. Because of that...he is wanted too."
"Heh...they just want to make more of me most likely..." a dry sadistic voice said.
Spider jumped and whirled around, looking up at his most hated enemy with a nasty scowl on his face.
Malice was just lounging in the tree, an evil grin on his face. Like Spider had said, he was blood red in color, with three rows of dark red spines running from the top of his head to his tail tip. Instead of yellow, his eyes were a flaming orange.
"How long..." Spider growled, his back arched.
"Just long enough to hear your 'oh I had a bad life' story..." Malice said with a chuckle, "You left out the bit about us being clones you know..."
Spider's growl got louder, "They didn' need ter know that..."
Malice laughed and jumped down from the tree. He was a little shorter then Spider...only about 6 1/2 feet tall at the shoulder. He circled the group, Spider followed him, keeping himself between him and Ali and Zander.
"Always protective of those weaker then yourself..." Malice chuckled. He stopped circling and frowned, "You could have been so much more if you weren't such a softy..."
"Can it..." Spider sneered, his body tense, ready for anything.
"That reminds me...thank you for sending some of those sligs my way...it is not often I get my dinner delievered." He laughed, then burped...his breath ranked of carrion. "'Cuse me..."
"Psycho...satanic...red freak!"
"Now now...you shouldn't call yourself such things..." Malice said and laughed.
Spider roared and slashed at him with his claws, but Malice dodged and leaped back up into a tree.
"Tisk tisk...temper temper..." Malice taunted, "I think I will leave you for now..." his face turned serious, "I have things in store for you Spider...so watch your back." He laughed again and disappeared.
Spider almost went after him...but he remembered Ali and Zandar at the last moment and restrained himself.
"Next time.." he muttered to himself, quietly...

Edit: ooc: no Mal didn't kill Xaiver...he just killed a couple of the unnamed sligs...just thought I'd clear that up...

" you weren't kidding, what a creep." ali snorted, looking at the direction malice went with contempt. she then notice zander looked rather pale. " something wrong zand?"

" he..he said he ate some sligs..what if he ate..." zander started to stammer.

" relax, the creep probebly get sick if he ate your dad."

"One of those sligs we just fought was yer dad?" he asked.

(ooc: short I know...but couldn't think of anything else...

Mal: *holds up a bottle of Pepto* I don't think I would get sick off of him if I took this...

You can't eat him anyway...he is an established character..

zander sighed slightly. " yeah... though hes never has acted like a dad to me. he's always been cruel to me and treated me like all the other sligs, sometimes even worse. i know its strange but despite all that i..i wouldn't want him to die, hes my dad for odds sake!"
