I am sick of this feud that seems to be going on between us. I don't know what it is you have against me, but I for one have had enough.

I hereby call for an end to the hostilities between us. All I want from you is either
a) an explanation [and example] of what I have done to make you hate me so much, or
b) an apology.

That's all. I apologise to you, as well, for whatever I did...

I also felt I wanted the reconcilliatory nature of this post disassociated from the angry mood in the other. Sorry again. It will end here, I promise.]

Steel Shark, I come to you with a serious offer, an offer of peace.
As you and everyone else on the forums know, there is a bit of a dispute between us and I want to stop it. I don't like being angry with anyone, for anger only leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. The dispute between us is not doing the forums any good and I think you would agree with that. We have more important things to do then to fight each other, like play games, chat with our friends, etc.
I come to you as myself; no dragons, no Spider, Malice or any other of my characters. JFYI, I am a different person in RL; I am shy, timid at times, quiet, and have a lot harder time expressing myself. You see I have always found it easier to express myself over email, chat, or message board; I guess its the writer in me *smile*.
I portray myself as a dragon named Dragadon on this board because Dragadon represents the 'online' me and is what I wish I could be in RL (not the being a dragon part...ok that’s a lie...I do wish I was a dragon *grin*); talkative, more outgoing, able to express herself easily. My other characters are all in a way each a different side of me...to be quite honest both Spider and Malice were created during times of anger and frustration in my life, as time passed and things got better for me those two mellowed out.
While I am at it I'll tell you a bit more about myself.
I am 24, work in the USAF as an Administrator and live in North Dakota (I would say which city but with how things are in world right now its best I don't). I love dragons, dinosaurs, nature, and video games. I also love to draw and write, in fact joining the forums helped me out of a drawing/writing slump; I have written 13 Oddworld based fics since I first joined in Jan/Feb; with 3 being written right now (though I have a sever case of writers block at the moment...ugh), and 3 planned (and I have notes on). That's not including my collection of shorts in 'Chronicles' (yes I know that is spelled wrong), which has 7 short stories in it. Odd knows how many pictures I have drawn (somewhere over 100).
Ok I better stop bragging...
Now to clear up a misconception.
I never did say I disliked the X-Box, I did say at one time that I don't care if it succeeded or failed, but that is not the same as not liking it. I am perfectly capable of buying both the X-Box and the GameCube if I want (just not on the same day...), in fact I plan on getting them both...and soon (in fact…as of today I have prepaid for an X-Box and as soon as that store gets one in its mine). Yes that is going against what I have been saying all this time...that I wouldn't get a new console for one game (go on...say it...say that I'm stupid for doing that). And I have the room now to do it as well...as I just moved into an apartment (which is easily 3 times the size of the dorm room I was living in before on the military base).
Also I don’t hate you, I have forgiven you for all that you have said and I apologize for anything I might have said that had insulted you.
On the Role Play bit...I do it to help express what I mean on the net (after all...all we see is text...its hard to tell what you are feeling with just text), for humor (laughter is the best medicine after all), and lastly because I enjoy it. It’s fun to pretend you are something else (as long as you don't do it in RL...or the men in white coats will come get you....).
Anyway...I am starting to ramble...so I shall end this.

Like I said...this is a peace offering. Let us end this senseless dispute between us, for it isn't doing the forums or us any good. I shall respect your views on things as I always have; I just ask that you do the same for me (I would still like to know what you have against my characters…just out of curiosity). Will you accept my offer and shake (virtually) my hand? Please consider...for it is for the best for both the forums and us.

Well there have been some rather nasty flames going between us, mainly due to different opinions on the X-Box. These flames have started to degrade the forums and raise tempers when we should all be having fun (well those that can) playing the newly released MO. We are trying to make peace with him so the dispute between us will stop...and we can all get back to whats really important.

Steel Shark? *holds out hand* My offer still stands, will you accept?

That's because Oddbodd, people always try to get into arguments which does not concern them, and try to gang up on then which would make the person pissed off. Thanks alot Rettick! Steel Shark was mad gravy. I thought he was cool. Most of the people I was starting to like too left also. I think it sucks.

I don't think SS has left, and I don't think it was Rettick's (or anyone's) fault. SS wouldn't leave without at least saying goodbye. For all we know he's traveling on business. And I, for one, hope he doesn't leave, 'cause I still have to finagle some more XBOX info outta him...Hopefully he'll get back and we can end all of this.

*sigh* didn't you see the flames he was giving us? He flamed me for no reason in one topic and we were defending ourselves as he was defending himself. We don't want him to leave as he is a valued member of the forums like everyone else. That's is why me and Rettick started this topic, to end the silly flames between us. Can't you see that?

Stop it! I know you are all upset..but Hey so am I! But I saw the Topic where SS flamed Dragadon! He was unmerciful! He just went up there and Flamed him! He was Mad gravy! But look on it from both sides! SS was one of the colest people here on the forums bu he had no right to flame Dragadon!
All I can say is if you don't believe that SS flamed Dragadon it dosn't mean its not true!

The fact is, he started the Row, and if it caused him to be scared away, then he only has himself to blame, quite frankly. Me and Rach have tried to end the feud amicably, and SS hasn't. And yet you still think of us as the bad guys here?

Well to the bottomline, yes I agree to a "TRUCE". However cannot "FORGIVE" compleatly what has taken place. Sorry but I have to be honest. I know why and how this has been perpetuated and will leave it at that.

I have no hate for you that may think I do. We all cannot be best of friends now can we? I believe that when we bump into one another from now on we should all be more civil and understanding to one another, more tolerant and if not interested in certain topics still allow others there freedom. If not interested in XBOX or what ever else dont read in that topic, simple enough, right? I won't break your arms for it, promise.

I am a person in the pursuit of "FUN". That's me in a nutshell. If not creating realtime CG worlds or playing games and having fun with family and friends with all watersports possible and all else you can imagine in the real world,and I come here to talk games. I go to no other Forums, no time. Plus I got used to this place, I have friends here as well that I would miss. I thought of going to TeamXbox forums but thought of the people here I would indeed miss.

There are people here for example that you see little of as of late.... Pacen, Lampion, Elum, I like and respect, I would miss them. There is our fearless leader Sydney, a very intelligent leader far beyond his years, we are not the best of friends, we both know that, but I like him and respect him for all that he is.

There is Luxo JR, we always have disputes, but I still respect him for his individulism, ( Believe it or not Luxo JR).

There are the two Belgians, Xavier and Oddipus, very nice young men.

Crazy Vykker and Gluk Schmuck, we do not bump into one another too often but I know them well enough to like them.

There are also many others that I like here from the past but cannot mention them all, but I am sure they understand.

Joe the Intern and Ron Rancor, Doug a new person here too have always been real cool.

1,2, Middlesboogie, and I too have had disputes, but I feel alot of it has been misunderstanding and twists of confusion. But believe it or not 1,2, I like you.

Pinky: I love her non-conformist mentallity, and her willingness to stand up for her beliefs. Very original and open person. And yes Pinky you are 100% sugar and spice, don't change a thing.You can be my sidekick anytime.

Fuzzy Fuzzle: My XBOX partner in all that is XBOX. Why not love something with a passion huh? Another reason I did not leave is because of Fuzzy.

Abe Babe: Bottomline, the world needs to clone her, what a better place it would be.A very good Administrator, and an even better person.

And finally, last but not least the one and only OddBodd my good ol' buddy for quite some time now. I am very Happy that you have recovered and are back in the swing of things. The world needs original and funny individuals that march to the beat of a different but advanced drummer. You have been given a second chance at life, something a person like you has soooooooo much to offer and hope you will grasp life by the throat and give to the world all you have to offer.Just live Oddbodd, and enjoy and never take life for granted. All the greats Plato, Aristotle, Einstien marched to a different but advanced drum beat, and I feel you too can give very much to all in the future. You always have a friend in me.

Well in closing I would like to say sorry for any trouble, I really only meant the best, I only wanted to show what I already knew for everyones best interest. I have always said get all systems if "POSSIBLE", and never forced anyone or told them to get an XBOX. I just really wanted all to profit from what it will and does offer, sorry for crossing the boundary at times and stepping on toes and getting caught up in silly disputes, I should have restrained from that.

So lets be more understanding and civil as of now, "ALL" of us shall we.

By the way Dragadon, I like your dragons, you have quick wit to come up with what you do in all your topics. I love Fantasy, so you know I have to like your dragons and wit as well don't you.

Rettick: This is not only about you. There is more to my not being able to forgive all that has taken place. I know the reasons and the why's, so let's just leave it at that. Fresh start OK. Bringing up the nasty past will do no good, I will not get dragged down that road again. Let's just say I know why and how it all started. But hey there's some good waves outside and good games and CG work to follow so I got to go, Let's be cooooooooool from now on OK.

Thank you SS. I was beginning to worry that you have left for good and I would have never forgiven myself (me = paranoid...ugh). I shall be more careful of how I say things...lest I upset you again, which I do not want to do. You are a valued member of the forums as is everyone else (save for those who's only purpose is to cause trouble...and they don't get to stay very long *grin*). damn.... this is the first time i've seen this topic. *wonders how he could have missed it* anyway i'm glad all of that bullshit is beside/behind the present. i definately noticed SS not posting anything of late, but attributed it to x-box/work. anyway glad to have you back (if you were gone that is...). and SS, you think you could e-mail me some concept art of what you're working on, as i'm very interested in making a living in your field. if so, it would be greatly appreciated.

I kind of kept out of this ... apart from a post back early... and secondly because Sydney handled the next part quite well.

I for one am glad to see SteelShark back... I was worrying he wouldn't come back! And SteelShark... thank you for your kind comments about me... it brought a smile to my face. It is nice to know that our forums are held so highly by yourself, and the members also.

I'm glad everyone has been able to settle down and apologize.

And Rettick... do give it a rest. SteelShark has made a general apology, don't harp on the past and try and dredge up the waters under the bridge. It only has potential start up things again. You're a moderator... so you need to act like one in this. After all you said an explanation or an apology. Dragadon accepted the apology.

Other than that... let's all just have fun and enjoy the forums, our Xboxes, our PS2s or what ever other system we may have.

Yay! Peace on Oddworld and Good Will towards Muds! I'm glad to see this whole thing resolved. I believe that now the Oddworld Forums will be a much happier place to visit (Ok, so my life revolves around it. Big deal.)
